sorry, but I'm going to be the one that bitches about todays POD. the edit is absolute crap and the picture isn't that good either. the jump is wicked but I'm not sure if that qualifies to be POD. there's a lot better our there.
^^^^yeah i dont like it since the scenery is...ummm...dirt!!!!! and the focus is pretty wack!!! and i absolutly dont care bout neg props so bring them all
IT not Gaussian blur or any kind of PS effect. Its a tilt/shift lens that creates a very shallow depth of field even at distance which creates the illusion of a different perspective. The only thing this photo can be accused of is good composition. Props dude.
mtnbker395, it's pretty obvious that you didn't read the rest of the comments explaining how this look was achieved. The focus effect wasn't added later in Photoshop. It's fine if you don't like the look but it really shows your ignorance of photography when you talk about things you don't understand. And hey, you're entitled to your opinion, even if it's wrong... Ha!
Sick photo, never seen a tilt shift used vertically like that and not sure I like it as much as when used with the bands horizontal, but it's a sick picture all the same. Props dude.
My bad... I see the take off now. At first I thought the bike was just pasted into the picture. I would have liked it better without the annoying unfocused sections, but it's still a good picture.
There's not a ton of processing on this shot. I use Adobe Lightroom and just converted to grayscale, upped some contrast channels and added the split sepia/cyan toning.
Tilt shift faking most likely. You take the photo overlooking the scene for best results then blur the sides or front/back of the photo using Photoshop to remove scale reference. Pretty cool effect IMO.
See, now THIS is a better POD than that nac grab that was on here a few days ago! Same concept, but a better/bigger trick and the scenery seems better .
the monotone is good, the riding is epic but the Photoshoped blur is gay. i dont think its worth picture of the day because the blur just ruins the picture.
The takeoff is right next to the dude on the right and the knuckle of the landing is at the top of the Monster banner. Just keeping you guessing... Ha!
