I like a concentric bb on short travel bikes, but for a bike like this it just means that the pedaling efficiency is thrown out the door.
  • 1 0
that is the problem with most concentric bb bikes but it isn't made for pedaling effectiveness, it's made for jumping. It is pretty damn fast though and actually does pedal pretty good.

Show me a pro who rides a 150mm travel bike for jumping.
  • 1 0
slopestyle. 150 isn't that uncommon. Greg Watts Roscoe is 140mm.
  • 1 0
Greg Watts' Roscoe is at 140mm because that's how much travel the Roscoe has.
  • 1 0
but he won. He's not the only one to run larger bikes. Slopestyle bikes tend to run between the 4 to 6 inches.

I agree that SS bikes have between 100 and 150mm of travel, but oneghost said "jumping," which to me means "dirt jumping."

Well, it's labeled a slopestyle bike. I assumed he meant jumping as in the slopestyle sense.. d

as in you will be needing the bike to jump well and the pivot location of a concentric BB allows it to jump well while allowing it to take up square edge hits like wooden stunts. This bike was originally designed for slopestyle but the uses for it are well beyond the bone yard. I m thinking of taking the travel down to 135mm (approx. 5.3") for our production models allowing it to be more all around useful. We had these raced 4X all year and our riders loved it but thought if we reduce the travel slightly it will allow it to sprint a bit better.

Hey oneghost, i don't want to argue but square edge hits absorption on bb pivot bikes are bad because or the arc of the wheel. (basically no rearward travel) What did you do to make it better than others?
  • 1 0
I thought I replied to you on this, damn. I meant to,. I don't see an argument at all, you have a very valid point there. by having the rocker arm in a specific location and length we can cheat the rear wheel and shock to move how we want them to creating enough of a vertical wheel path to take up some of the jar on a square edge hit. The bike isn't designed for square edges so much as it is dirt rollers on slopestyle courses though, but it does rally though rocky single track amazingly as a side effect to the geometry.

 not at all...
and I've got no idea why they make it with b/b pivot if it's AM frame??
On the other hand probably less than few riders would ride dirt on frame with almost 6 inches of travel...

still looks sick. Smile
  • 2 0
It's not an AM frame, it's for slopestyle.
  • 3 0
whatever. sick frame and that's what matters. Smile
hope ot will lead U straight to success.

That will be the worst, with the pivot at the bb you are going to get so much pedal bob it will drive you insane

$1498.99 A bit more than say a Transition Bottlerocket, but it`s also not mass produced at this point in time.
