The corporate bike industry has manipulated young people, through marketing, to think that they are doing something new and different than BMX when they buy these heavy, expensive "mountain bikes". Why does a mass produced, Taiwan made, "mountain bike" frame cost twice as much as a hand made BMX frame? They don't want you to know that you could be spending way less money and time obsessing over and replacing all their heavy, fragile, flexy, crap components if you were riding stuff made by the BMX industry.
do you even ride a bmx?I race MTBs because they have suspension, gears, hydro brakes, and big wheels.I could race BMX if i wanted to.And how old are you man?You keep talking about how biking was is the 60's.Well its not the 60's any more so your useless information doesnt matter.
Originally the cruiser class in BMX was 26" wheels. Thats back in the late 60's, before "mountain biking". So it doesn't really matter what you call your bike. You are riding BMX.
Read my user name. If you went mountain biking on a 20", would you be riding BMX? No, you would be mountain biking. If you ride a "mountain bike" on jumps and berms, you are riding BMX. And guess what, some bmx bikes in the 70's had suspension. BEFORE mountain bikes existed.
