MMMMM Micro knobbies my fav tire. Especially on dirt. Our trails are tacky enough to run them esp on the rear. It's like cheating. Loving the grape kool aid!!
Haha, only one set of flats... and theyre on the commencal up at push! Wasnt riding clipped in, so had to borrow a set down by the park... odyssey purple pcs sure seem like theyd fit in nicely!
Thanks man, and I first chemically stripped, then "distressed" the frame with die grinder abrasives, sandpaper, then clear powdercoat. Any clearcoat paint is porous, so you get little veins of rust under the paint after a while, whereas powdercoat isnt.
okk, i was thinking of doing this but my dad (he sprays cars sometimes) said that if you just put a clear coat on it doesnt stick well and flakes off easy, have you had trouble with that? or is it fine?
thats 100% true... for paint. Powdercoat basically ends up with a sheet of plastic melted onto the surface. It doesnt come off.
You spray charged powder onto the frame charged opposite of the particles so they stick to the frame, then it gets baked to melt the particles. It doesnt rely on evaporation of VOCs or anything like paints do.
Just primer, metallic silver, and translucent purple. Not hard at all. I would have anodized them, but they have steel eyelets which would have been destroyed in the ano bath.
