did you have a problem with the derailleur hanger breaking?

ya i broke 3 in 6 months and couldn't get so i decided to make one out of steel

They break so your derailer doesn't. They're designed to break.

no the 07's had a design flaw so they would just break on a big drop. if you look around lots of people did the same thing. i designed it to fail before the derailour though

To my knowledge Santa Cruz has updated the dropout so they no longer break easily. That was a hile ago. As long as it does the job, and good work on making it!

I'll pass this on to my buddy, he has the same problem with his 07 mini DH. He thought about making one of steel but has been worried the frame might give before the hanger if he does that.

nope the frame is plenty strong but make the hanger out of 3 pieces and weld it together and it works better
