 yeah nice build mate.
in regards to "ultimate" build.i have my nomad as my ultimate build for me at this time.im not a weight weeny so that helps but im really happy with it all.there are some things i would like but im content.i thought you made it quite clear on the ultimate for you build....so how long before this beast is complete?...im very keen to see it.congrats on having wonderful taste in bike choice

Well the new frame doesn't come in until June. If I can sell my current Nomad 2 by then, then I will be able to complete the Nomad C that month. Otherwise I will have to wait a few months until I've saved enough money.

yes i know all about "selling at the right time" lol.you have plenty of time to get a good price.
i really like the Nomad 2,i have a 07 Nomad and have been on some trails on a mates N2 and was amazed at its beauty and sharpness on the trail.you must be very confident in the Nomad C's abillity to be even better than the 2.or is it just a LBS thing?

I'm a bike mechanic, so it's pretty much in my nature to always want the newest things. I love the way my Nomad 2 descends, but am not happy with how much it weighs, so the Nomad C will make it pretty simple to lose overall weight without sacrificing any downhill prowess.

i feel for you mate...being a bike mechanic must be a horrible job ha. im thinking of handing the o7 nomad onto my wife and buying a nomad 2.dont know yet but she has claimed it.when we do trails together i always end up with the manik hard tail.

if you had the bike built on jan 3, how could you NOT have ridden it off road by the 10th???

that's crazy..... ???

Because my girlfriend was off school for winter break and I had been spending every available day with her.

I do the same. Your bike don't love you back. Women can pay back a bit better as well.

3.5lbs: Carbocage, XTR, ZTR Flow, EC90, Solo Air
  • 2 1
Not gonna change the fork, not gonna change the post. Gonna get XTR hubs on ZTR Arch wheels, Noir carbon cranks, and maybe Elixir CR Mags or Saint (yes, heavier).

What do you mean by "carbocage?"

http://i49.tinypic.com/10z2zw5.jpg It will last a long time for you because you don't need a bash for AM ;]

Meh, I will probably end up putting a dual ring setup on it anyway.
  • 2 0
whatever you do don't get hammershit
  • 2 1
Hammerschmidts don't work well on the Nomad, something about pedaling/suspension dead spots. I wouldn't get one anyway, I think they look retarded. If anything I'd do an E.13 DRS+ with a 22/36 gear ratio. For now though I think I'll switch to a 35t front and 11-34 rear (currently a 36t front and 11-32 rear).

they look retarded but god damn i like ridding them rode my friends new mongoose am it acually felt pretty nice
  • 1 0
Maybe, but they're also extremely heavy.
  • 1 0
true...but u dont need a bash?? wouldnt that help a lil??
  • 1 0
It's all pointless because I don't have this bike anymore. My new Carbon Nomad has a 22-36 double with a Blackspire Stinger guide and an E.13 bash guard.

 yah that thing is sick!!
  • 1 0
How do you like the Lyrik? Just wondering because I own one.
  • 1 0
I haven't ridden this bike off road yet, but so far it feels very supple. I like the 2-Step feature and its ease of use.
  • 1 0
i'd sell a nut for a nomad, so sick!
  • 2 1
Well I won't trade for anyone's nuts, but I will be selling this frame/headset in a few months to pay for my new Nomad C.
  • 1 0
 lol! how much
  • 1 1
I'll probably be looking for around $1000 for the frame and headset.
  • 1 2
Amazing. 2-Step is hurtin it but I mean damnnnnn you're stoked (gimme blur) Big Grin
  • 2 0
2-Step is only hurting it in your mind, and you best stop dissin' my fork if you want a chance to buy my 4X.
  • 1 0
 Solo-Air cartridge, get one.
  • 1 0
I like the 2-Step. The fork was $350, don't wanna spend any more on it.
  • 1 0
 DON'T SELL THE 4X!!!!
  • 2 1
 Why not?
  • 1 0
Cuz they don't make it anymore. Its good just to have around.
  • 1 0
 what size frame is that?
  • 1 1
 It's a medium frame.
  • 1 0
 Sick nomad dude!
  • 1 2
pink is ace, hate those lyrics and cheapish chainstay protection
  • 2 1
The chainstay protector works great. It doesn't need to be expensive to work well. The lyrik also works great, and it only cost me $350 brand new.
