haha yea guys i think the crowd would be a little more freaked out of this was random. judging by the orange writing im guessing this is mid/ east europe? my guess is like prague or slovakia, poland, idk
I've seen some. I've even done some racing in a mall here, in Estonia. But with the exception that I was riding a 24" street bike with only my 140mm rear brake. And the escalator was really long too. Such an adrenaline rush. Amazing shot though.
the palces where races have been, are getting more interesting. shopping mall, underground, utah... whats next?! slow motion dh race on the Moon?! Btw, Great Pod!
lol I've done that before... cept not for a race, just randomly in a mall for the hell of it. We had security chase us around for a bit before we found a door to head out of. It was pretty awesome.
robbo's just jealous we can go to whistler and go snowboarding and downhill biking on the same day.. just shred the top of the mountaing and then ride the bottom of it and then go in for a drink at the pub! too bad im still underage
Awesome shot, Red Bull does something liek this in Michigan called the "Red Bull Race Down" where you go throough a big office building on your bike and they have jumps set up in open area's and you run it just like a DH race.
I rode through a mall once, underground mall in downtown Winnipeg. Went down an escalator, up an escalator, wheelied down the hallways.. No security in sight. It was awesome. All you could hear was the hum of our tires. Epic, yes, epic experience.
Sweet shot by the way, brought back some memories.
bah good theme maybe but its not worthy of pod, take it half the PB office didnt get in the office cause of the snow and some junior scrot got to pick today
I think that this picture is a photo-montage. In my opinion the shadows of the biker should be shown somewhere on that elevator. But the picture don't have anything like it. And the left side of the picture is messed up a bit..
Anyways , its nice pic.
haha bombing a mall. i wanna bomb my school on my last day after i graduate. it has some sick stairs and a few decent drops this pic is my desktop pic now haha.
I can only say it's photoshoped. Reasons: Nobody at all is looking, light is off, and i really dont thing this guy would be wearing goggles although it is a possibility, as well there is no jarring motion that you would find in a pic of this, it looks to me like he is actualy dropping in the real pic.
Hey but if i'm wrong and i just sound like a total douche..then good pic man.
when i first seen the pic i thought for sure it was photo shopped. but then i checked out a link to another different pic in the same mall. pretty sick shots. woof!
i seen a video awhile back from this sort of pic before, and it's sick that they actually allow dh race's in shopping malls. you know you live in a great biking community when right? haha btw sick pic.
mannn this reminds me of the old days rammin around town, taking every set of stairs i could find and hitting every drop that was around hahaha exelent pod !
Why isn't anybody looking at him though, cos if someone was riding down a strair like that in a shopping mall, at least 50% of them in the POD would be looking,me smell photo-shop at work, but even if it is real, there's nothing that special about it,i mean compare it to Gee Athertons from the other day by Rob Kitchen i think. This doesn't come close to being a POD and everyone knows it deep down.Mind you that's just my opinion though. P/S I've just noticed thers no shadow at all around the bike, theres marks on the stairs, but no shadow at all, deffo photo-shop=Fail.
@@thegringo... Have you ever heard of more than 1 light if you set up atleas onelight on each side and there the same brightness you dont get shadows. and maybee he was like one of the last racers and people were getting bored or look how most the people have sponcercoats on... that means other racers... well crazy nice pic dig the angle
Yes i did give all of the things you mention thought, but i can't see one person with a sponser on there coat, and i can't see any lighting set-ups what so ever. You may be right in that they were all bored cos he was one of the last racers, but firstly, at least 1 person would be looking, it's the law of averages, and secondly, this isn't a photo shoot it's a race as you quite rightly pointed out,so there wouldn't be any photographers lights set-up whilst the race was in effect.
Although i suppose the rider and maybe one of his photographer mates could have set it up when the race had finished and everything had died down, but i don't know, i'm just a mere observer, and i stand by my first comments. It's got photo shop wrote all over it.
Though i may be wrong, but that's opinion for ya,sometimes it proves you right and people agree with ya,and other times it proves ya wrong and makes you look like a right knob.
But i'll take the licks either way,we're only talking after all.

i dont think you would get many shadows in a mall, there are usually lights everywhere, so light would usually be covering every angle. and okay so you cant see anyone in this pic who is looking at him but you cant see the people in the front row right next to the elevator. in fact you cant really tell how deep that crowd of people is. i think the pic may have been edited in the fact of light and contrast but i dont think the rider has been shopped into that pic.
Okay after what you say Ragdoll,i'll agree. It's just that it did look a bit dodgy but i'll take your veiw and agree with it,ya got me,now i feel like a knob for doing all that typing,Ha-Ha.But we can all have a laugh about our little debate now can't we.
I did believe in my initial view by the way and so did a few others, but it is what it is.
