I agree RapidRob, pretty generic. Seen this kind of photo so many times before.
It's a nice shot though. Pin sharp.

Sure its a pretty picture, BUT... I dont see why it has POD - Its just a full frame shot with a small aperture taken with a good camera/lens for pin sharpness and deep blacks. No artistic element whatsoever IMO.
Dont get me wrong, I like Ian's shots because they show detail that you wouldnt pick up normally through your own eyes, but I'd like to see some creativity in a shot when it's been selected out of a few thousand uploaded per day.

majeau, I think you'll find that french is actually the official international language, its just more western/developed world contries know some english as a 1st or 2nd language.

majeau should just stop talking, if poinzer0 cant speak/type full proper english its not his fault, he has to learn it as a second language and english is one of the hardest languages to learn.

cavaties english is not the hardest language. try German, Japanese, or Chinese, i know english is my second language. learned to speak perfect in 3 months of being here...

Regardless of the reasons for it being chosen (we do not pick which shots are POD and incidentally feel that there are stronger shots in the album), it was not taken and nor was it loaded into the album as a 'catalogue shot'. We had circa 10k of shots taken that weekend last year and recently found some time to run through and pick out some others to load up that we either liked the look of or who are good friends. Why this one? Because I liked the striking colours, that it was sharp and shows the aggression showing through. Simple as that. Believe that or not, it's your prerogative, but it doesn't change the simple truth that it cost us money to head to Fort William that weekend to provide the coverage for Pinkbike, maybe not something people realise or appreciate.

I'm not putting down the photo at all, or the photographer, or their motives. It's a fine shot, well executed, and all the rest. It just doesn't sit very sympathetically with the previous POD's. 'Catalogue shot' is not a critiscism in any way. It'd (presumably) be a lot easier to take a quick B&W shot of a hooded BMXer sitting atop a quarter pipe, and call it 'art'.
Like you said, you don't choose the POD, and the only question i'd raise is why this picture is POD today, when it stands out like a sore thumb against other PODs.

Yeah, standard is Silver/Black (as per the review I did of them towards the end of last year), CRC are blue, Hope direct riders are green and then Empire Bikes get custom Red/Black.
