XC race, it started pouring rain right at the start. The guy in front here came second against some pretty good riders on decent bikes, check out his bike and shoes
This pic should be shown to every gear queer that shows up to the trail on overpriced equipment in spandex and gives a bunch of sh*t to other riders who are not "real" riders like them. It would be a humbling experience for some of those "real" riders to get smoked by a guy in shower slippers on a spray painted rigid bike. Congrats to that guy on the 2nd place finish.
@ dtroyan im just curious at how that is racist. he is black? are you the kind of guy who would call him coloured? because that is racist for sure as it implys there are not equal. if someone called me a white guy i wouldnt go shouting racist that readily because i am actually white.
get the sand out of your vagina and stop being so sensitive. i said black, big deal. you know what i would have said if i was trying to be racist and i didn't go there.
w.e im done talking to you guys. and not dtroyan123, im cool with him
I always wondered why you don't get many black athletes in Cycling sports. Their genes make it easy for them to develop muscle mass as their muscles are denser that white peoples (I think?), which is why you get so many black sprinters etc. I woulda thought they'd be good at 4X. Maybe they just don't get the opportunity... wicked pic anyway. Shows how anyone can beat people without needing a superlight XC bike.
I love those "racism" fragile people. If that was racist: what about that: white people are stupid, they should be killed for poluting the world as they did since ages! Dogs! Murderers !
or maybe religiously incorrect: recently catholic church changed the rules form young boys while confessing, they have to kneel down showing their back to the preacher! or how about sexual things: heteros are as modern as a pig playing a banjo!
fun for anybody? if yes change white to black, catholic church to muslims, and gay instead of heteros: not fun anymore? if not fun well: get some mental treatment cuz you have some political correction crap installed in your head... maybe too much MTV or just too much CNN... don't know...
But it is not fun being a white person, at the same time being catholic and a heterosexual being called around a dinosaur, a racist not tolerant bastard everytime I forget what is politicalt correct or not! So give the guy a break as he didn't mean anything wrong!
and remember: as in SouthPark they said: the word n*gger-Guy is illegal to use!
oh FFS mr-eric WTF?! Can U please explain what exactly has occured in your brain that triggered your fingers to write this last sentence? What was the thinking process? Something must have struck you real hard so apart of common sense your brain skipped grammar...
I agree, this NEEDS to be POD, so inspirational for people less fortunate than ourselves, you can still accomplish anything if you set your heart to it. Simply awesome.
I'm sorry mate, but this guys got natural talent, pouring with rain, slick roads, slicks tyres and a shi**a of a bike, and he still comes second, he's bloody fit don't get me wrong, but he's also very, very talented to beat those guys, even on a normal bike, let alone that thing.
tbh bud, i bet he lives there and rides pretty much everyday, he'll be used to riding in those conditions, and yeah he might be talanted but it seems everyones taking it over the top, i agree coming from what would seem to be a poor community on a bike most of us wouldnt dare ride and coming 2nd is impressive, but i think its more fitness then talent, i mean look at the guy behind him, he looks shattered, where the black guy (not racist so all you jumpy people calm down) just seems to be powering through.
It's a bit of both, these guys ride bikes because they don't have cars, and they ride what they've got. They ride everywhere, up the mountain and down the mountain, no problems. So yes they are fit, and they have a bit of skill acquired from simply riding a lot.
the more you learn about biking the more you realize there isnt much to improve. pinkbike only got me wanting more and more. i dont even want to know how much money in bikes ive spent
yeah this guy actually inspired me to go out and do a night ride on my downhill bike lol.
You dont have to be mr fancy pants to win , i know he didnt win but he got 2nd tho, that says a lot about him, what he could be like if he gets some sponsors and stuf
I know this is rough but it says allot about xc, you could turn up on a crappy bike and almost win, imagine that bike in a DH race down Fort William...
they always make exeptions look through the previous pod and there are some where they arent wearing helmets. they are more common in vods but i dont know if they follow the same rules.
no one owns a lid in Jamaica..it is a rarity.
Parents sometimes have to choose between buying shoes or paying for food or school.
If anyone here ever goes to jamaica bring old gloves, lids and pads and anything else they can use like BIKE PARTS and patch kits.
my old tyres can be seen on tons of bikes years later....happy faces spreading bike love
2 wheels 1 love is our motto
My God I love this photo... Its not just about equipment, as long as you love what you're doing and are determined!
I especially love the guys in the back, all decked out with fox forks, clip pedals, etc...and this guy just destroys them on a one piece crank, reflector filled dept. store bike! WICKED!
THAT is Ryan a kiwi rider and Andrew Memura a Toronto rider that kills it. They had their asses handed to them like the rest of us.
Usually the guy kicking my ass is wearing no shoes and has a deathtrap beater with no brakes. This is the Rambo Race...to town and back 3 times...soon as it started it started pouring...killed the bmx demos but everything else went off.
The Jamaican Bicycle Bash takes place here at James Bond Beach...an entire day dedicated to bicycles and stunting and FOOD and DRINK. The previous 2 years featured forign stars like McCaul and Vanderham doing flips for the attendees but now it is all about Jamaican talent.
thanx to red Bull and Appletons Rum.
Lungs and legs of steel. Respect. Thank you Jamaican dude for making me feel good. I ride with people who just change parts and bikes like there's no tomorrow, and I sometimes feel that I get no respect because I ride a hardtail with a beat-up Drop-off.
yea cuz its all about safety and not riding right? im saying this..... without any racism in my bones at all...... he couldnt afford a helmet so he cant have pod. it takes money to get pod lol
