After the contest I would send that to the company. I bet they use it for something. that took some time, not just a printed or traced out logo.. Props to you my friend.

Yah that would be pretty cool if they wanted it. It did take a little bit of time, but I did want something different than just a piece of paper with the logo printed on it. I enjoy doing carvings like this one here, and when I saw the contest and the logo, I knew right away what I was doing. Thanks again for the good words.

Well, first off I would just like to say thanks to everyone who has left a comment on, or faved any of my pics; I appreciate it, and I'm glad you guys are enjoyin em.

Second, I've noticed a few comments about the Smurf in the pic so I figured I would try to just give a quick explanation as to why I stuck him in there.

I was trying to hit on the relevance part of the judging criteria, and there are 3 reasons why I thought he was relevant to stick in there. The first one is prob pretty obvious. The log is carved and he's standing there with an axe in his hands and a saw on the ground; pretty straight forward. The second reason may be pretty obvious too, and it also has to do with the axe, saw, and backpack. Here on the East coast, guys that dig trails secretly are often referred to as "Trail Gnomes". Well if you don't know already, the Smurfs were these little blue things that lived in mushrooms in the forest. Pretty much the same thing as a gnome, so he can be thought of as a builder too. The third reason I think he's relevant may not be as obvious as the last two. The first film the guys from Anthill put out, The Collective, has a segment in it with Tyler Morland. The segment starts off with Morland talking about moving to Whistler, working at a bike shop, and a trail he's been building. The name of his trail is the third thing that makes that little blue guy relevant. If you don't know what it is, go watch Morlands part and see if you can figure it out. Post up the answer if you get it.

Thanks for the good words fella's, I appreciate it. @ hangloosefighter, I used a dremel tool with various bits to carve it out of the hunk of wood. The sign is only 9x6 inches big.
