Hey man, I'm considering getting a 36 for my capital. Will they hit the downtube, and how's it feel? My fork's rigid so it's kinda low. I like a steepish front end. Will it raise it too much?

Hi Dude! I haven't had any issues with the wheel hitting the downtube, I run them fairly hard but the crown spins freely if thats what you meant? The crown doesnt hit the downtube as the downtube joins the headtube a little higher to allow for this. So essentially, no problems whatsoever!

The front end does still feel steep and raises it a little, you can see this by the chainstay angle in the pic. I counter this by running low bars, the above are only 30mm rise. It's a very comfortable ride. It still feels streety though... I wanted mine for DJ and it ain't perfect for this if I'm honest but it looks rad!

Hope this helps ; ) 36's rule.

No Problem, good luck with your choice!

Mainly use this for DJ and a bit of park. this frameset cant run disc brakes as it takes 110mm bmx hubs at the back.

Hey, sick bike, bloody good weight too! Big Grin Was just wandering what you thought to your tyres and where you got them from? Smile

Cheers buddy! The tyres look a little skinny when riding but the KHE Mac2's are seriously light... For nice hard packed dirt and park you can't go wrong. However, what I've done now is put that front KHE Dirt tyre on the back and popped a Schwalbe Table Top Kevlar on the front. It's more grippy on dirt now and still rides nicely on Park/pavements plus the Schwalbe is a bit fatter but still lightweight.

I got the KHE ones from Winstanleys BMX

Rear:

I'd be happy to sell you my rear one if you ride park more, I'd rather have two dirt ones and swap to a schwalbe for real grippy riding up front.

SchWalbe Table top Kevlar:

Schwalbe Table top Wire (cheaper)

They're all good! Hope this helps.
