WTF! I cannot see how this is a reflection!
(Feb 27, 2010 at 23:02)
RIGHT????? photochopped for sures
(Feb 27, 2010 at 23:28)
i think it was a joke
(Feb 28, 2010 at 0:32)
no. it's def not shopped. just a 50mm 1.8 with the depth
(Feb 28, 2010 at 9:20)
this just doesnt add up but funny none the less
(Mar 1, 2010 at 7:27)
nah, it does quite easily. The water is out of focus coz of the shallow DoF, but reflection is sharp coz he's focused on the rider & to focus on reflections you need to focus as far into the puddle as the rider is & not on the surface. f*ckin brilliant use of it having the rider & reflection in one. Really nice work man! Love it!

i completely agree on the photographic side of things, but the angles of the reflection are what dont add up, as in for this to be real the quarter has to be the mellowest thing youve ever seen
(Mar 1, 2010 at 10:51)
if you look
brian took the picture using the grinding box and not a quarter. he miswrote about the quarter.
(Mar 1, 2010 at 11:28)
even so, the ramp is some way away from the fencing, however in this "reflection" it is made to look as if the top of the ramp is basically at the base of the tree. so if there were a reflection it wouldnt look like this
(Mar 1, 2010 at 15:33)
super sick shot!!
(Mar 1, 2010 at 22:43)
Cosmossss, I can promise you that the reflection is exactly how it's supposed to be. Why would you say the quarter has to be mellow? Half of it is hidden by the out of focus water & reflection & long lenses compact perspective & without the fence in the reflection you loose all the depth & that's why it looks flat in the reflection, but has depth in the rest of the park. Believe me, I shoot enough to see when things like this are fake & this is not one of those times.
(Oct 16, 2010 at 13:06)
i ride at this park everyday, thats nuts you made this shot work the way you did, never wouldve even thought of that
(Feb 28, 2010 at 0:39)
this is NOT photoshopped I am the one in the photo. i was there, i saw him take it, just admire the work of an amazing photographer at his best and let it soak in real good because there will be many more beautiful photos in the future
(Feb 28, 2010 at 0:06)
No No No. Its @ f/2.2 so there is a super shallow depth of field. the coping is blurred and i got right at the water level. i honestly was not expecting it to do this, but i am telling the truth. no joke. it is on my camera for those of you who dont believe me.
(Feb 28, 2010 at 0:08)
the water in this picture is the same water that i used to get the reflection.
(Feb 28, 2010 at 1:01)
i stand corrected. HOLY CRAP POD!
(Mar 1, 2010 at 7:29)
that's mad! you got it kinda by accident? Damn lucky accident... I just HAVE to try it
(Mar 1, 2010 at 7:45)
well i meant to get the reflection, but i had no idea it would turn out like this, with the fading into the quarter.
(Mar 1, 2010 at 22:36)
aah, ok. That makes more sense. So rad tho, the DoF worked in your favor super nicely!
(Jan 18, 2012 at 2:25)
that's so trippy, wtf?
(Feb 27, 2010 at 21:34)
(Feb 27, 2010 at 22:23)
How the heck....not photoshopped??? I dont get it
(Feb 28, 2010 at 4:01)
Wow that really is awesome, I will take your word for it that it's real but trying to add the reflection up with the quarters is giving me a headache
(Feb 28, 2010 at 7:54)
too bad buddy isn't wearing a helmet or itd be a sure fire POD
(Feb 28, 2010 at 15:11)
(Feb 28, 2010 at 22:11)

His headband counts as a helmet. POD!
awesome photo, goin' straight to my faves!
(Mar 1, 2010 at 15:47)
At first i thoght it was a nice murral instead of grafity like at all the skate parks but that's still sweet!
(Mar 6, 2010 at 11:29)
the thing that confuses me is what is reflected on the quarter is behind it so how does that work?
(Mar 9, 2010 at 11:43)
NO WAY ! MIRROR SKATEPARK ! lol>
realy cool edit btw
(Mar 9, 2010 at 16:56)
not an edit, but thanks
(Mar 12, 2010 at 5:31)
Wow man, this is such a great shot, you should sell it ride away to a big company, this is as good as it gets. Great work!
(Mar 12, 2010 at 7:45)
thanks man! haha any ideas on who to maybe sell it to?
(Mar 12, 2010 at 22:24)
Look at his bikeparts, try any company on there and you might even want to try getting him a sponsorship also haha. just ask like 500 to a 1000 euro for a commercial license for about 1 year. Depending on how big the company is and what they want to do with it ofcourse.
If they say no or they only give you bikeparts or they only want to put your name under the shot, just say NO. Or try to make some other deal with them a good deal! Nobody want's to spend money, but with a killershot like this a brand can make alot of money, so sell it with this in mind. Your doing the company a favor, not the other way around. It's their los if they deside not to buy it. And this photo is timeless, so I would try it every year
This is what I would try to do, other photographers might be having other ideas?
And if that doesn't work, try magazines all around the world, they have their own prices most of the time, but if you sell it exclusive to one magazine in every country or whatever, you could make some nice cash to buy yourself some new gear or whatever.
You don't have to try sell every shot you make, and for me, it's not all about making money, but if you have a sick shot like this, you got to cash it in to show it of haha.
I still can't believe how beautifull this photo is. Wow!
