im with davidhansen on this one. being able to capture the scenery is a large part of photography, doesnt always have to be a bone shattering cliff drop for a POD. people can disagree with that, but it is sick tho
Specialized15: I used to be with you, I would always be hating on PODs of a scenic trail ride with no big show etc...
But for the first time I see a totally different reason for PODs. Each person sees something different in photos. I have a passion for Whitewater and so just riding near a river gets me amped. Seeing this photo has me voting POD all day, but I can see the other perspective like str4tegix below. Maybe from now on I will enjoy other PODS just because of the other aspects that can make a photo great!
Crap riding? Are you guys for real!!!, dunno about you, but it takes stones to come down something like that, even without a tight run off and river on the oppisite side of it, with the rock at the bottom as wet and no doubt slippy as fook. Love all you guys slating this as crap riding when half of you (myself inculded) couldn't ride down this. Props to the rider and the cameraman. Top photo!
Half the people who look at this photo don't even understand how tech that roll down is. The photo is crooked as well as theres such a small run out, one mistake and your fishing for your bike.
That is a super sexy picture man , what a great location , shame it's tilted slightly the wrong way it takes away from the steepness on the roll in , still great though
I absolutely do NOT understand how people can possibly bash the POD's. If you don't like it, that's okay. Everyone has their own preferences in terms of what they want to see. HOWEVER, the POD's are voted on. Therefore, more people like this than hate it. Smarten up and leave negative or questionable comments at home. Thank you. Very nice shot, by the way. Well framed, nice scenery and well-captured action. Props!
Is all that you guys on here care about is how big somebody goes? or the trick even? is it ok to not be the best rider in the world and still get a killer shot? its shots like these that make it into bike magazines... totally pod worthy
For me PODs are all about the picture and not about the riding, you can pull an insane trick but if the camerawork is shit the pic will be shit. whereas if the riding is crap but the photographer has got an epic shot then thats what pictures are all about.
