I like the look of the tip dumping out right behind the running board it looks pretty sick! Better not mind constantly washing that wheel to keep the coal from ruining the finish on the chrome, My truck the exhaust was actually taking the paint off of my rear 1/4 panel so I just bought a can of hi-temp flat black paint and sprayed it on the panel so I didn't have to worry about it taking off any more paint and rusting the bare metal.
Should try go against all the big name chips. Get a custom tune from PHP, TW, or DP. They are going to perform way better. Especially for shift points with the auto. Plus they can tune based on your tire size, any other mods, etc. Sick PSD btw, I have an 01 that I want to eventually lift 4" Mine is a standard though.
And just a bit of info for ya, cold air intake doesn't do anything on a diesel.. even if it comes in warm it passes through the intercooler. The DIY intake performs the same as all these $500 cold air systems and it only costs like 40 bucks for the NAPA filter.
i know thats what i have actually its just a filter connected to the stock intake tube. the main reason for changing it is, the stock airbox leaks and dusts the engine. and for the chips i took the edge off a week after i got it, eventuallyy when i can afford it i will go with a Tony wildman custom tuned chip. stay away from dp tuners they change ignition timing to much and result in cracked/bent rods. and the name brand tuners dont adjust anything for the tranny. you should check out powerstroke.org its pretty informative
Yeah, I know there is some controversy about Jody's 80 econo tune. People say it's fine if you have forged rods. And I know yours would be forged being a 99. But still, probably a good choice to stay away. Good choice on the TW, I think I will go with PHP when I can afford it. Prolly just get the 6 position Phoenix, I don't really need anything too fancy, especially since half of the tune is dedicated to shift points anyway. My hand controls my shift points. lol. And the org is definitely a great wealth of info, anyone with a PSD should take a browse through.
yea see you have a manual you already have more power than me to begin with. but yea there is big controversey over whose tunes to run. but probably go with TW since they arent that expensive but i really only need 3or 4 tunes
just got the TW chip and d*mn this thing hauls ass now. its not even comparable to the edge. and she smokes like crazy on the 140 tune i can cover a whole road.
thanks. ive been getting around 16-18 skipping around from stock tunes to level 5 high performance tunes. i need to run a tank through on the mileage setting i could probably get 20, wich is really good for riding on 38s these wheels and tires weigh close to 200lbs each lol
yea you do unless its over 14000lbs then you have different smog requirements. trust me my buddies dad owns a smog shop. ive got a 3/4 ton f250 anyways
