When I first saw this I thought whoa thats a strange place to edit Steve Peat into but that's just cos I saw the funny shape of the helmet and I thought it was some poor erasing technique:P But it's just over power flash which always has a surreal look to it, nice clean shot as usual with well balanced flash tup

It really is hilarious how many people cry 'photoshop, photoshop' whenever they see a picture posted online. Actually it's not, it got old a long time ago and just makes the poster out to know nothing about photography, especially when most digital images will have gone through some post shot processing. Short focal length, flash on white kit & a dark day gives the effect of the above photo. Of course that couldn't be grass obscuring his foot and tyre from the camera, no, it has to be photoshop editing/cut & pasted etc. By that I guess every other photographer who was there on Monday also edited Steve into their pics in a mass conspiracy to try and trick people into believing Steve was somewhere he wasn't...give over!

Umm, was that directed at me?Confused All I was saying is the D3 helmets funny shape threw me off, I know fine well it's not photoshopped, I don't think I have ever called anyone out on a photoshop they claim isn't, its usually pretty obvious whether it is or isn't.
  • 1 0
Nah, not aimed at you at all, more the various people above and elsewhere who seem to think that they deserve a prize for shouting 'Photoshop' everywhere when it's clear that they just don't understand what a camera can actually do.

"mass conspiracy" jeeze havnt you caught on, EVERYTHING is a mass conspiracy, even those doubting conspiracy are creating a conspiracy. god.

....all joking aside, good shot, go steve!

 Just no.

lol the reason i would cry "photoshopped" is the whole are around his left leg including the shoe. It is photoshopped and its a fact... or maybe cut and pasted into a diff pic using a diff program Smile

Urgh, not getting into an arguement but why can't you understand it's real? It's just a well lit photo. It's a poor example but this is a shot of mine here which is sort of the same but the rider is riding. Are you going to tell me the forks and front wheel are photoshopped in?
  • 1 0
lol i think i owe you an apology... i only just realised that half his shoe isnt missing, its hidden by a tuft of grass... my bad Frown I got the impression it was mid air lol!

Hey let me get a pair of those Edge Composite DH rims!
  • 1 0
can we buy those or they are still in testing ?
  • 1 0
They have all mtn and xc rims out but the DH rims are still in development. If they can make it through a race season for the syndicate, I'm sure we'll see them next year.
  • 1 0
As far as I know, the Syndicate guys are using the AM versions on all their gravity bikes.
  • 1 0
anybody knows if that rim is UST compatible?
  • 1 0
It's not UST ready, but I believe you can use it with a Stan's tubeless rim strip.
  • 1 0
I find it very arguable to use stan's Ust set with 2-ply tyres... if you want to do it right you need to put in 100ml and the rim stripe ending up at around 150g - well that's exactly how much a regular tube weighs... I'm totaly with it for thin tyres as you can just ride at lower tyre pressure without puncturing.

Stan's light yellow tape, aluminum valve stems, and some nice high volume folding tires with a little splash of sealant. Any day now we'll have a set in the office. Stay tuned for a preview article and then a test article further down the road.
  • 1 0
I don't want to hear about it, I bought factory wheelset - UST compatible just for the sake of not using much sealant so this tubeless stuff actualy lowers my rotating mass. If what you say works at under 100g that means I could save myself some reliability issues (especialy broken spoke replacement) by buying regular custom wheels - I'm not hearing anything la la tra la lal alaaa

PB should test these against the DT Swiss EXC1550s they just got, both set up tubeless.
  • 1 0
I would really like to see the CF rim test called : "ride the Dh track on a flat tire". Im not a "Carbon Fiber explodes" wanker, I do think this is a great material - I am just curious how do these rims behave in situation where aluminium rim gets a side dent.
  • 1 0
Conveniently, we'll have both carbon wheelset's here at the same time....
