great pic... nice to see some XC riding in a POD... peeps always forget about where this sport started! It doesn't always have to be about the big stunts etc... the site isn't called www.pinkfreerider.com or www.pinkdownhiller.com

why doesn't anyone ever post some roadie photos or some sick shots of bike messengers or something???

and remember it's POD not crazy rider of the day

love the mood of the photo
  • 3 2
 couldn't have said it better.
  • 3 0
Great shot. Why is it POD though..... All it does is capture the moment, with the rider nicely in the sun, escaping from life in the city, with an angry looking sky and a great backdrop with nice colours of the oranges on the beach. I know if looks like it could be one of those true natural XC tails with random rocks and debris everywhere....
  • 4 0
Well composed shot that, its got everything a good photo should have, including loads of fecking idiot kids ripping shite about something they clearly know nothing about. Ie how to take a good photo! Well done Skawt!
  • 3 0
 Salute Thanks man
  • 3 1
everyone who thinks their way of riding is the only kind to look at is a retard. i know that there are tonnes of children on here who only dj or fr/dh, and that's f*cking rad. to only let those be pod is f*cking ludacris, mtb started on single-tracks and trails and without it, all these dumb kids would have no hobby. hahaha, i can't wait to hear people tell me off about my legitimate and completely fair blurb.

Well said; it's not called "pink downhilldirtjumpfreeride"

awesome pic but not even closeeeeeeee to POD worthy
  • 13 10
kinda boring, but the scenery is pretty cool
  • 36 13
PODS have a sexual preference solarsatti? Really now? I've said it before, but why can't POD be about capturing a scenic moment during even our most mundane day to day rides? Chances are the rider didn't even get a chance to really view this great cinematography around him until the person who snapped this picture got a chance to show him. Every time we ride we miss great views like this until a friend captures it just right to show us what we neglect to see when we're doing cross country, free ride, downhill, trials, bmx, etc... Most of us miss the best part of riding a bike because of nothing more than a different perspective. I think this is a great POD.
  • 5 3
christ scott, another pod, you are getting to good at this Razz
  • 8 1
Scott you have other pictures that are definitely better than this, although this is still an awesome photo... example: http://www.pinkbike.com/photo/4782556/

That photo would be a better POD in my opinion. This however is still a good POD, nice one! tup
  • 23 4
OK, for all the people hating on this photo...
GTFO
So what if the rider isn't 'doing anything special', it's not about that, this picture gives a great insight as to what a mountain biking lifestyle is about. Just because he isn't hucking off a 50ft drop doesn't mean it doesn't deserve POD. And besides, Scott doesn't decide whether his shots get POD or not, so it's not his fault if it does.
So, if you don't like this picture, f*ck off with your stupid comments and go hate somewhere else.
Roll on the negative props...

this site is about riding bikes, not capturing scenery (go do that gay shit on shareawesomescenerypicsandnotmtbpics.com/eventhoughitisamtbsite) and this is what this POD seems to be about

i think good scenery adds to the photo but this 1 in which hes not doing anything seems a bit boring
  • 19 7
Like I said above, not got anything positive to say, then f*ck off! Big Grin

i'll do what i want, thanks
  • 19 6
No solarsatti, you're wrong. Riding a bike is about the scenery just as much as anything else. Otherwise the people who make MTB films like NWD, Seasons, ROAM, Lifecycles, F1RST, etc... wouldn't put in so much effort to make sure the shots they film showcase the environments that riders like us get to see and experience. The same could be said for all of the photos that MTB magazines print. What we ride, and the astounding scenery we get to see is far more important to the sport than you realize. But by all means, if it makes you feel manly and tough go ahead and insult the entire industry.
  • 14 3
Finally, cyrix, someone with some sanity tup
  • 9 3
No please don't. It's not about sanity or insantity. Some riders just haven't been able to see something on a ride that made them really connect with the trail they were riding. I think once every rider gets that chance to view just that one brief instance on just one trail where they really stop and appreciate what they got to see just because they rode a bike, then maybe those people could better understand the absolute awesomeness that we get to see. Hell, seriously, my local trails are pretty low key and simple, but I really wish I could take some people from here on a few rides at just the right time and show them my favorite views and spots. Maybe it would change their mind and give them a better appreciation for the mountains we ride.
  • 7 0
who thought such a peaceful and scenic photo could cause such a commotion lol.
  • 15 1
Ok I never expected this to get POD, sorry to be the one upsetting so many people.

Oh well it's POD number 3 for me Smile
  • 5 8
its not your fault mate, i dont blame you
  • 4 3
Its a nice photo, but i think it would be better if the rider was a bit closer to be bigger, so the nature on the pic wont "kill" the biking part.
  • 1 0
awesome shot! well done on getting another POD dude.
  • 3 1
This is a pretty sick shot!!!
does anyone else notice how 75% of the time its the scenery that makes the picture pod?
but still... sweet shot!
  • 3 0
Woop! Go Scott and Martin! Cannae wait to come down soon lads!
  • 3 3
Erm I agree with solarsatti and cyrix in NWD and stuff they get awesome shot with people doing awesome biking. If it was just some guys on specialized enduros with camelbaks and gay helmets it would be sh*t but they have pros doing jumps and going ridiculously fast so to make a good picture of Mtb it should be good riding scenery is just an addition. And I think I speak for a most dh'ers in that we ride for the fun of actually riding I don't care about some trees or colours ok if it's like a super amazing mountain or volcano then yeh it's cool but I don't ride just to look at it
  • 3 1
Wooooo, controversy!! This pic rocks and the haters are feces.
  • 4 0
how pretty. Its one of the reasons to ride. To be one with the beauty of nature. Great shot!
  • 1 0
nice one scott! mint shot except not the one out of your recent stuff i would have chosen as pod, i thought it was gonna be the one of christo at bonaly that would get it. easily pod i its own right though, mint!
  • 2 0
biking is about the rider, bike and the place where you ride, this is important ,not if you are all moutain, or dh rider, not?
  • 3 0

Beautiful shot!!! there is great senery in the backround and it is just awesome shot.
  • 2 1
I'd give this POD even if it didn't have a guy on a bike in it. Great British (scottish, whatever) photography at it's best.
  • 3 3
looks awesome, shame they always have to be fixing/painting the rail bridge.
  • 3 2
 What makes you say this?
  • 4 3
because it always has a few patches covered in that white stuff, i dont think i've ever seen it without, its really iconic but just doesnt look as good with those bits, its like edinburgh castle with scaffolding on it... if that makes any sense.
  • 2 2
Ahhhhh, I assumed the white bits were just the way it is Razz Yeah Stirling castle is always covered in scaffolding too. Seems so silly.
  • 3 3
i guess if its stops it crumbling to pieces ..... lol

  • 1 0

  • 2 3
sweet photo! Braefoot was featured in the December issue of dirt magazine and it looks a sick pplace to ride!!
  • 3 5
pink bike is about riding bikes and doing cool tricks not noticing the color of the gay grass. suck a fat one pod..i want a shot of a rider actually doing something
  • 4 2
Ummm... No it's not, but whatever.
  • 1 0
ummmmm yes it is...i dont want to see "scenic shots" i can take a scenic shot with my phones camera with no biking in it and you and your little fetish for nature would probably vote pod for it..thats stupid! people want to see tricks and tech. riding
  • 1 0
lol Whatever man, come back when you finally decide you are able enough to appreciate the world around you. Photo's no matter what the subject, consist of one form of scenary or another. If your too ignorant to accept that then... "Go suck a fat one"

  • 2 4

  • 3 2
 yes you are
  • 3 0
 Haha now that's research!

But yeah fair play, what is the point in randomly ripping on people? Go get out and ride or create something better yourself, its the childish easy option sitting on your couch with your PC slagging off other people's work.
  • 2 2
ryd26forLife lets see you do better..........yeah thought not.
