 Bikes in the UK run the rear brake on the left and the front on the right, makes sense if you are running both brakes and are right handed as your stronger hand is on the brake that should be used the most. If only one brake is being run it's personal preference really, but being a UK rider, riding bikes set up like that since I was 2ft tall, I would run it on the left.

 So its like the driver side on the left thing in North America, on the right in the UK?

 Yeahh, if you think about that, we have the best idea there. Most people are right handed so you can easily stick your pistol out of the window to cap the chav as you go past.
