Hollowbites. Devices and medials are also a good option.

Good choice. With ti hardware and spindle they're also the lightest streetable crankset.

I've herd of people stripping the pedal inserts *Cough cough Johntownson and others* I also found this ---> as john has fixed his which makes me belive this is true.

"But apparently the bosses are designed to spin so that retards who can't figure out the reverse thread thing don't strip them immediately. It's also supposed to protect against stripping due to over-tightening.

Unfortunately, retards then attempt to undo the pedals the wrong way, spin the bosses, and assume that the cranks are stripped and post about it on the internet."

You'll only strip the inserts if you're a hack. That's the absolutely only way to do it. *CoughcoughJOHNCough*

You won't regret getting them.

I didn't strip them you retard, the insert just came loose. But a little red loctite fixed that.

Also, you can NOT strip the threads that hold the insert on by tightening the pedals. If you see how they are kept from rotating you would see that the tightening of the pedals will NOT interfere with the inserts threading.

Some people have. The arms are aluminum so if you're hack enough you can actually damage the interface.
  • 1 0
I would think the arm would snap before you would rip the threads out but its possible. But that has nothing to do with what happened to me. My inserts just simply came loose.

Aluminum is a fair soft metal, and steel and pretty easily chew it out. Dunno what happened on your crankset so I can't say much.

7075 Aluminum is definitely not soft enough to be stripped that easily...Just look at the Race Altas cranks, there 7075 Aluminum and they don't even run inserts, Pure pedal to Aluminum contact never herd of one striping...

get profiles because u get lifetime warrnty and 1 out of 259 chances they will break,so profile is the way to go.
  • 3 0
Profiles are Over priced to shit, and aren't really all that light, or reliable.
  • 1 1
well profile has been out longer for crank than most other company,so i think they know something about cranks, and they give u lifetime warrenty.go on ebikestop.com there the cheapest u can get them for besides me,becuz i know matt coplan a profile.
