 How about you stop critizing picture's, and once you get a POD you can talk about how it can be better. i'd like too see you go out and take a picture like this.

 Do you want the job of finding a pod everyday D1rtJumper? Of course it won't be the "best" picture on pinkbike. It's whatever happens to catch the eye of the guy who picks it, and at the end of the day, we'll have a new one to complain about it 24 hours.

 there's been better pods, but there's certainly been pods that were a helluva lot worse.

 i like how the picture is framed by the leaves we need to start a PB pod revolution - everyone say one original thing about the picture that they like.

Thats about the funniest thing I've heard all day as a reply to suggested critique. Did you ever notice, any of you hardcore pod critiquers out there, that nearly every single photo could have something better about it? You have to be an extremely kick ass photographer to get it perfect with every push of the shutter button. If it's not perfect, so what? It's a photo, it's something that someone dreamed up in their very own imagination, and decided, hey, I'll post this on some sites. So they did, and they do.

Photography is one tricky s.o.b,

"The colours don't make it stand out" - russ ryan cleared that one up.

"The angle could be better" - Do you realize, mathematically speaking of course, how many possibilities there are when it comes to angles and a camera lens?? Think about it.

"The fisheye makes it look weird (imo)" - What do you think a fish eye lens is for? No distortion? No unique point of view? Straight forward photography? Obviously the person who took this has accessed his imagination and realized the creative possibilities in what a fish eye lens can create.

"It could be more crisp" - It's quite crisp on my Dell laptop screen, which I personally believe the screen is garbage, compared to other monitors I've used.

"I'll explain" - What exactly were you trying to explain?


This photo in a thumbnail version caught my attention, and I think it's awesome and clearly someones thinking outside the box. Keep on shootin'.

Maybe I should've said "*sigh* you can't even post your own pictures on Pinkbike anymore" after your 1st comment? People disagree on most things, so don't get too upset when they do.

 what an epic shot , perectly framed , if that was any one of us in the shot we would want it printed huge and up on our wall!! Once again epic picture! LMAO at the all the critics!!

 theres the photographer fanatics who disect a photo, then you get the sociologists who disect what people have been saying and write a 262 word essay on it

 RaleighVoid, yea, those people man, they have nothing better to do than correct lame comments and set things a little straighter for the rest of us. I would rather spend 2 minutes reading a "262" word comment, than a.. "this could be better, and that looks off" kind of comment.

It doesn't hurt to take the time and dig a little deeper, open peoples minds up a little more, perhaps learning something in the process. Ohhh boy, that's nearly 100 words, better shut it down before the literature police come and arrest me.

 Nice one Eric, don't usually like to see the race tape in the shots but in this one it adds to the shot

 Thanks Ian! Yeah, same. I've been trying to make it work at the last 2 races for mongoose & isn't easy, but think this spot worked out pretty well.

 I reckon the tape makes good framing and it works well with the same shape as the leaves. Gives a good composition.

 quite funny, coz out of all the spots I shot at this race, this was the only one I used my fisheye... just because it distorts things doesn't mean you have to forget about composition.
