You should learn a lot working at the recycling place if you fix up bikes there and stuff, if I can't become a Security Guard I'm gonna try getting a job as a bike mechanic even if it means working at Halfrauds Bike Hut haha.

atleest you can work above there low standerd and keep the job, i oredy learnt a few things there, also few dudes at my local bike shop let me use the tools and when ther free teach me stuff when im workin on my bike, learnt so much from them!

Definitely, I would work to my highest standard and unlike the part timer dorks who don't know jack shite about bikes there, I can advise customers what type of bike to buy, my local Halfords sold a Kona Stinky to this lad as a commuter bike lol (no joke) they told him it was a full suspension 'comfort bike' , until I told him that it was for Freeride! But yeah mate I learnt a bit briefly about bikes in the last 2 years since I've been on moredirt and pinkbike.

kona stinkys are one of my dream DH bikes! just cool and realistic price, i did work exspierence there when i was back in school, built up the complete bikes just as good as the people who worked there, kinda shoddy lol

haha, my mate refers to them as monkeys with spanners, I admit that some of the prices are good from halfords for some service, but their stuff is a rip off,My LBS charged me £40 to remove the crank deraileurs and BB, yet halfords only charged me a tenner.
  • 1 0
ther a big company, they can get away with cheeper prices, bike shops are alot smaller and harder to keep runnin
  • 1 0
True that! Saying that though Halfords scratched my frame when they removed the BB so that pissed me off.

propper bike shops may cost abit more but they are so much more trusty(good ones anyway) all the riders are all into bikes anyway, halfords workers probly like errr i changed my tires once, i could get a job at halfords!

lol presuming I could too and I don't know as much as you about bikes, the part timers they employ don't even like bikes they just do a 3 week training course, and they always have to get the maneger or full timers to answer your technical questions, fuckin joke, I support my LBS now and get on well with them, just I was proper skint the time I wanted those parts removed so I got Halfrauds to do it.
