stock Voltage FR30 with Fox 180 Floats, Rockshox vivid 5.1, formula oro 'the one' brakes, slx mech, slx shifter, carbon truvativ post, charge spoon sadle & superstar nano pedals.
Hey, I was thinking of doing exactly the same as you...upgrading to 180mm Fox 36, and putting a different shock on a Voltage FR30. Can you tell me how well it rides with these forks, and also, did you get a deal on this set-up or did you have to pay for the upgrades separately, and you are just selling the old stuff to make up for it?
Hi I got a very good deal on the FR30 and sourced the upgraded parts separately, got the float 180's direct from the Chinese factory for £550. I wanted an ultimate build without going daft. The FR10 had a good spec but I still would have had to change bits. In the end the fr30+upgrade route was the cheapest. I don't care for bling, or making it look like what everyone thinks a bike should look like cosmetically, my only concern is how it performs, I don't even like the colour! I love the way this bike handles and feels in challenging terrain, however I never rode it with the stock domains. I gave it a thrashing yesterday at Ae and the fox forks felt tremendous. I'm selling the stock stuff because its now surplus.
If you can buy now, get on it and grab a 2010, the 2011 are not as well spec'd and pricing is higher.
Wow, thank you very much! I will look into the 2010 models a lot more! Anyway, very useful information, so thanks again! Hope the biking keeps on going well for you!
Cheers!
