Great shot and all but theres just way too much damn light in this pic
  • + 14
@dhiller661 Try to answer why there is way to much light. There is never to much light in a shot if you like what it's doing to the photo. There are no rules in photography, you make it how you like it. If he hadn't over exposed the image, the riders face would be black, like some other parts, I think this is a way better choise, it takes me there.

I got a headache just looking at this picture Frown
  • + 3
 sweet pic, bit overexposed though?
  • + 4
you know whats really neccessary in this pic....that glare...just feels great on my eyes when i wake up in the morning. half of the pic is a big white blotch like someone had there way with it and posted it....PICK BETTER PODS
  • + 6
i think the landscape doesnt look good enough to make up for the distance from the rider its a good shot but not quite a POD shot
  • + 1
 What a POD!!!
  • + 3
i dont htinks this is the best they could have chosen the light is just so distracting when i saw it on the home page i though that there wasnt even a rider
  • + 6
It seems to be people here Love it or hate it!

Haha i'm going to take it up for this shot. Because I think this shot rocks and it's not something you see every day. It's really something else, although it's not a perfect shot to me personally, but I do see the beauty of it.

Overexposed:
There are no rules in photography, you make it how you like it. If he hadn't over exposed the image, the riders face would be black, like some other parts, I think this is a way better choise, it takes me there. Look at that dust cloud, aint that something! He's on fire!

The angle and composition:
Ok, you can step around the spot in a 360 degree angle, you can sit close to the ground or climb in a tree or hire a helicopter. You can find so many angles. What I like about this angle, you can see where he would go if he crashed over the combo. Ok, you will not fall hundreds of meters, but it could get you injured pretty bad. It's nice to see a shot that has not been taken from the riding path itself head on.

The landscape:
Ok, on the left side we see trees. what many people would have loved to see is a mountain or a misty sky or whatever. But ask yourself, is that so important to you? The trees are maybe less interesting, but it makes me focus more on the riding, the colors, the flare, dust, whatever.

To bright for my eyes(something else than overexposed):
Get yourself a Eizo monitor and calibrate it, you'll be fine. And not having a hangover may help also...

Nice POD! Razz

sorry brah, no ones got time to read a novel

Whaha I love you linges you buddy!
  • + 3
Aight Katinasd , if you want a constructive criticism on exposure. Fine, the over exposure does work, but if he'd use a way higher f stop, in the region of f22 or more, at least the over exposed sun would have an aesthetically pleasing star burst as opposed to a bleached out blob which even swallows the tops od the trees

 Family happens at Swiss Chalet!
  • + 2
personally i find the lense flare a distraction, but other than that its a sick shot!
  • + 2
i no its a photo but im going blind looking at the sun

This is a biking website, not a photography site, right? So A pic of some great riding, great scenery, at a great time of day, should be picture of the day! Focus on the ride folks, its a great pic, you don't have to break others down all the time.
  • + 1
 agreed
  • + 4
its a nice pic but i find the light too distracting and draws away from the landscape... but thats just me.
  • + 1
Nice shot, thats the same sort of look that i was trying to get with this photo here but the rider got in the way of the sun and the purple line was gone www.pinkbike.com/photo/5549654... still a great photo ..

  • + 1
 yeah mike!!! shedding it up
  • + 2
 too much of nothing!!!
  • - 1
pod should be of some actual riding not just some guy going around a corner there all stupid pods none of them are people hitting jumps or doing tricks
  • + 2
you obviously have no appreciation nor understanding of the culture of the mountain bike lifestyle then, not to mention photography skills.
  • - 1
sorry i thought this site was for biking so thne pod should be of a trcik or a jump not just a guy going around a croner
  • + 3
I know eh? riding trails and carving corners has nothing to do with mountain biking.
  • + 1
