yeah, I thought it was some crazy Tilt Shift at frist glance but then was wondering why he was rotaing the wrong way. SHould be POD though, so cool

Perhaps with everyone playing around with photo editing for the contest they decided to put up a PS'd POD.

You can see it's fake for multiple reasons: The dirts look to soft and the used dirt has a big structure, big grain. The dirts have no tire prints on them, the shades on the dirts are so big and flat.
If you take a look at the drop, look at he vertical wooden pilers, on both you will see a shiny dot at the lower section, that must be nails, and nails don't come that big my friends.
The link above here, another photo from this shoot, you can see it's if you take a serious look at the lighting. You can see there has been used a light source to big to simulate a small strobe, the whole trails are lit while the background sky is exposed a few stops down. Point: you cant lit a whole trail like this (oke it could be lets be realistic) And the can't be lit it by the ambient while the background being exposed a few stops down.
Anyway, I totally love the way this has been done for sure! VOD for sure.

you can also tell by the focal length, if everything is blurred in the backround that much, the there would only be a small part of him in focus, in this pic, the entire rider and his bike are in focus...or he'd have to be verry high so that it would be everything but him in focus, you can even see its a macro lens..so this and everything that people previously mentioned show how photoshopped it is..but i give the photographer props for the lighting...lay off the photoshop a bit, it's not true photography

By fake, you all mean "Not a real rider or real dirt jumps" right? If you go back and look at Mene's album this photo is in, it CLEARLY shows this is all very artistically set up soley for the purpose of photography. www.pinkbike.com/photo/5667350 He used what looks like pretzels for the drop/step up, thats what that shiny glare is,, salt! =P

You need a bigger monitor. The rider isn't a toy.
The photoshopping is compositing a pic of a REAL rider together with a shot of REAL tiny jumps.

This also reminds me that were coming up on Ginger Bread house time of the year. Maybe there should be a friendly duel to see who can build the best Ginger Jumps and Gumball Gaps, BMXers could join in too with little candy cane grinds and licorice coping. I think it is a great idea!

obviously it's not how it happened in reality, but I wouldn't call it fake. The photographer meant for it to look how it looks, he's not "faking" anything. "Too bad it's photoshopped!1!" Why? Who cares if it's photoshop, would you rather he took two pictures and cut them out with scissors?

Guys Guys Guys it's a new photo technique, I'm seeing it everywhere. They use photoshop and blur out everything except the rider. That way it gives the perception that the jumps are model size. I see it used in music videos everywhere. They used it in a Thom Yorke vid. The flash work also helps with giving it the fake look. But I would give my left nut if the photo wasn't real with some photoshop work.
