Selected by Sterling Lorence - Another POD that makes you wanna be there...awesome looking place to ride! Anytime you can frame in that much trail and show that much vertical drop, you've found a primo trail, and a good spot for shooting a few photos. Good choice to go black and white for the landscape is probably looking a bit wintery given the cloudy day, and it sure brings out the texture of the rocks. What would make it better? Rider style is a bit slow. Frame in a bit less sky, and seeing the rider closer to camera, in a more dynamic position, exploding past with some rock debris...
if ur after some sick shots, get up to Honister Slate mine. it aint to far from skiddaw. plus its unreal riding, plus on the other side theres a 300 metre almost verticle rock face that you can ride down, then a mile long path down to the edge of buttermere which is covered in boulders. AND! a disused quarry!!! still, sick photo mate!!
@dickturd-jnr94 took me and a friend from 11am - 4:30pm to do skiddaw + dodd wood on our dh bikes; then ride back to keswick including lunch at top of skiddaw...
Hey Charles, have you seen the other little path off the top of there that goes down to that col? Well worth a look as it's a prime shooting place that's all, just a heads up. Pete
You'd think living in the place where mountain biking was born would mean there are insane trails everywhere... Well let's just say I'd rather be wherever this guy is
Aahh... I remember riding down Skiddaw (after the epic climb up to the summit...) back in the late 90s. It's about as long a descent as you can get in England. Really nice shot, mate; nice one!
