Selected by Ian Hylands - The backlit dust in this shot is amazing, especially with the way the low angle sun silhouettes the rider the in the middle of it.
i wish people would stop being so judgmental over pods. if you really think its not worthy. theres nothing stopping you going out there and trying to do better. its quite insulting to the photographer and rider if you say something isn't pod worthy. especially if you have no experience in photography. a lot of people don't understand how much effort these shots can take. yes there may be better photo's out there but there are a lot of them and you can only have one pod a day. Ian has explained why its been chosen and i completely agree that its a great shot. just think in future please
same here pods are about getting a sweet shot showing the essence of the sport not rider skill. this is ine of the best pods ive seen in a while. props to the photographer and the rider
i agree. pod should capture some essence of riding. it may not be your style of riding but all of these shots take time and effort. if you can do better, go do it. very cool pic. looks like a beautiful place to ride!
You're in the wrong business if you cant handle criticism. Whenever you create it and expose it for the world to see, you will get feed back... If you don't want to hear it, keep it on your desktop and don't post it. its as simple as that... Being judged when well explained and well thought out is beneficial to any artist... You cant only hear about how good you are and how perfect everything you do is, that is more damaging than hearing the ugly truth...
I personally think its a nice photo but I prefer seeing more action in a MTB pic.
well said gerry. presenting artwork in a critique requires an objective distancing from the work you make, and successful art criticism demands that the viewer providing the feedback does so in an honest yet constructive fashion. failure to do so in either side results in a waste of time and ego driven verbal confrontations.
the variety of pods never ceases to impress me.
sorry, margus- brilliant work. thanks for posting it.
Have seen alot better pictures than this, was kinda boring, didnt make stoked or something.
Makes me kinda angry when its so small pictures at the botem that you cant really see whats in them..
Pretty cool shot I agree with Ian about being backlit and the dust behind. I wish the front right was maybe pulled a little more in post. But either way it works.
Awesome shot, so dusty, reminds me of riding here in Cairns, can't wait to get back on the bike, recovering from broken hand. Love how the 4 frames at the bottom lead up to the coolest shot with great composition with the tree. WOOT to your POD, well deservered, keep rockin out these shots!
I love the way that youve got the little photos below, certainly inspired me to put some of that into my pictures, I also like the way the grass sticks out more in the dust
