Steve is on the Schwalbe program with Devinci. Consequently he was rocking some Schwalbe Muddy Mary 2.5 tires at Pietermaritzburg, but Like most racers in South Africa, Steve had modified his tires a bit for the track's baked clay conditions--as in Nigel, his wrench, went to town with a set of shears to smooth out the centerline knobs for a bit faster rolling. There's no standard for a clip like this; Steve and Nigel both conspired to find a length of cut that both felt would optimize Steve's race run. In Fort William, Steve and Nigel will once again sort out a clip pattern as track conditions warrant it.
