this was POD for like 2 hours and already has 53 comments (counting this one) when that happens you know you have a good POD this shot is f*ckin crazy, hes got some huge balls, props to the rider
Rob is this guy: www.facebook.com/RobJHeran @ who is asking: He is still alive, he jumped the gap twice and landed it both times, just watch the video www.pinkbike.com/video/144112 I was floating to take the photo. It's part of my efforts to become Jesus ;-)
i remember this as to be one of my dreams. from when i was younger and it still is it must have been one of the reasons why it all started for me . i am almost 30 now still didnt find anything that was near it. looks like i am still looking far from it,, also because you need to jump alot of diffrent gaps before you can hit one of those btw this one is reality. and very nice. wished tough i could see one with the broken bridge... .]
It's close to Ollantaytambo, Peru. If you want to hit it just ask www.kbperu.com, the jump should still be in good shape. Just don't crash, you don't want to hurt yourself there. ;-)
Just want to say: 1) It was pretty windy that morning (more props for Rob J); 2) the jump was built by an 18 year old local kid, a ski bum from Vermont, El Chet, and KBperu.com - it was the first jump we ever built; 3) dont think homey got much sleep the night before by the way 4) Marcos is one of the best in the business. and thanks to Gravity Boliva. Lastly, the big glacier right behind him? Right behind there is Machu Picchu
Hey KB! Thanks again that you made all this possible. Was such a great trip, amazing rides and good vibes. to 3: yes, i was a bit tired from that much Pisco Sour and massive Chocolate Brownies... haha!! good times
you must have balls of steel my friend!!!!
what a picture that is, why would you even want to try that hahahahahah
am not jealous at all........NOT!!!!!!!!!
If you watch the Video, you can see that I made a half pedal. It was not planed and I was hoping in that moment I wont crash in the landing with wrong pedal front.
I'm awe by your awesome-ness, Rob-J
Plse remind everyone it's not a random jump but a well thought out one, nonetheless requiring huge balls of steel.
SICK!!!
U ROCK!
very nice only really see the canyon bikes when im on the other side of the channel though... massive props for hitting this gap rob! how did you get the balls up to hit it the 1st time??
Thanks! Well, I found this location during this trip on my birthday and I checked where the distance, roll in and everything looked comfortable for me. So we built the lip and the landing with a lot of hard work from the locals until i was happy and confident to make it safe. When you roll into it, you cant see the gap in between. Youre only focused on the landing and dont care about anything else. I also dont do too many roll ins without jumoing it, cause that scares you after a few times. So I just went for it in the third try.
