Selected by Ian Hylands - There is a lot going on it this shot and I like it all. This is not a shot with amazing light, incredible composition, or sick action. But it does have a guy putting on his goggles while another guy rips an almost underground berm to berm trail with sheep in the background...
"Building the berms last year"?? When was that cause I mean sure I was there mid-summer but they seem much older... In any case i love how they're dug into the ground rather than built on it. Makes you feel like you're getting so low
tbh at first i didnt even see the guy in the berm, just thought it was a pod of a guy standing doing nothing shows how observant i am :L great photo though
Probably none here can answer but how does this track work with water drainage? It feels like it would be a long ditch filled with water or at least be completely torn up by the spring flood from the snow melting.
I've had an idea of doing a similar track in a ski slope where it wouldn't be in the way in the winter with berms sticking up.
About drainage - there is no big problem with it,we rode there after all night rain with no mud there, trail is very rocky with minimum soil-no errosion etc. More fun was in a forest part with lot of mud and sliding anaconda roots.
I suppose the trail has a tough time draining when it's wet.. or, maybe they just convert it to a bobsled run in the winter.. =) Sick shot tho.. where did they take all the dirt?
Hey I´m really surprised ,I didn´t expect this could be a POD,my favorite pic from Austria album is this one www.pinkbike.com/photo/7062048 but thanx anyway.
That one is okay, a half a second later when his tire was popping off that root instead of setting up for it and it would have looked a lot better... This one has something in it that is really interesting.
Yeah because i picked doorknob thinking it would make me seem more sophisticated... its called sarcasm. and i'm sorry that i don't like the photo. i just don't think it's capturing something that cool. don't get me wrong i love austria, great place to visit and i'm sure, live but i just don't think that this is the greatest BIKING photo.
