Mark Fitzsimmons of Fox Racing Shox giving Gee Atherton's rear suspension a thorough work up, feeling for hang-ups in the suspension or the linkages. The bikes were getttng so hammered here at Val di Sole that rear shocks were damn near smoking as riders came off the track. More than one rider was getting completely pumped out fighting brake fade, too. Yes, it was that rough and that steep.

it is a shock boot I ran one on my bike in super muddy conditions to keep mud out its just hard to see it because its compressed. You can tell because shock bumpers never have rolls or ripples on them. case closed.

also whats the advantage to the chopped out link? one would think there would be more flex and mess with the symmetry of the shock through the stroke due to the twisting

sign of things to come...and these frames do not twist, zero flex in these bad boys, they corner like no other.

never mind it wasnt muddy the bumper is just dirty thats why it gives off the look of one haha!

interesting how Gee has cable routing mounts on his frame and why doesn't Fox supply us all with those nifty shock shaft covers?

there are no fancy fox shock shaft covers, it is just the shock fully compressed with no coil.

theres a rubber boot over the shaft
  • 3 0
Um no, its a fully compressed shock, what you might be seeing is the bottom out bumper.

Are you retarded, can you please point out this shock cover?
  • 3 1
Yes rydindirty, please point out this shock cover that you are so certain you see. You do own one of these commencal v3's right? so you should know what it looks like when the swingarm is completely compressed, right? You do see that shock collar, right? the one thats not resting on any sort of spring? the one that doesnt have any sort of "shaft cover" on it, you do see that right? i think your age is getting to your eyesight, not to mention your ego.

there is no shaft cover. it's a bottom out bumper with dirt on it, use your eyes.

rydindirty is an ignorant jackass and will not accept any form of advice or information from any body under the age of 30. his favorite line is "kids these days" or "these kids think they know everything". his age has been getting to his ego, his eyesight, and probably his weight too. f*cker

Ok guys i think its time to give up, if this ignorant asshole wont admit his mistake, theres not much point trying to correct him. He can stay a ignorant asshole.

he's still certain its a shaft cover. (face to palm) do they even make such a thing for rear shocks? pretty sure no one makes a "shaft cover", he must think its a shock boot. which STILL is not there. he is just one big fail. owell, ignorance is bliss
