Situated in the heart of the dolomites, at the foot of the Sella massif. Here, Fassa Marketing manager, ex-snowboard professional and general cool dude Mauro (AKA Ninja) leads WorldBikeParks.com rider David Scorer down a phenomenal ridgeline high above Pozza.
Selected by Ian Hylands - There is just something about the Italian mountains that always seems to impress me. I don't know what the trail looks like in this shot, but I'm pretty sure it's just as amazing as the mountains...
I could just hear that guy that does all of those commercials for movies, you know with that really epic voice "In the mountains of Val di Fassa, Italy... Two bikers... One Ninja... One desire...Mauro and David this summer will be... Pinkbike's POD"
They were two wheels, strained and stiff, who like bikeparking, two wheels who were straight... until they came to the Brakebump Mountain.. can't quit'ya, can't quit'ya!
@ Looorney: I don't know what you learned in in school but the Northern Hemisphere, Autumn starts on September Equinox which is 23rd September this year.
haha thetake401, its funny how pinkbike bring us people togheter all around the world, here its autumn and in austrailia its spring, thats crazy! and cool, but i really want autumn and winter now (;
Kamba6 - I know, I'm in western Sweden - we get the sht that's left in the clouds, that didn't manage to fall on you guys... this year it is especially interesting, we both get all what's left off those hurricanes that didn't fell in US. Today we had all four seasons in the morning, didn't know whether to wear shorts or winter jacket - FUN!
I can say something about equinox date as, in a way, I work professionaly with it. I do shadow studies for arch projects quite often, and you do them for june, december and march/september. These studies are made for municipalities and I can tell you one thing: every fkn one says something different.
Let's agree that autumn eqinox is between 20th and 24th od September. And let's leave it there. Who TF cares about exact date save a nutter going into the middle of woods at midnight, to stab someone tied to a stone table with 12" dagger to gain immortality, or make all cows in Missisipi sht themselves to create compost for next year crops... he really wants to get the date and time right otherwise the prophecy says it's gonna ne his family to sht themselves to death
Without opening the photo I knew this was in the Dolomites. If that were me riding it would be a crash POD. I'd crash looking at the geology in this scene! The tops of those mountains were, once, the bottom of the sea. Fantastic shot!
That's the Dolomites for sure! The only problem is keeping your eyes on the trail, instead of the crazy scenery that strikes you at every corner. And more often than not, the scenery wins... brake, stop and take it all in!!! Not the best mountains for shredding like a maniac!
