Or is this truth inconvenient? You want to talk world problems? Fine bro, I'm specialized in that.

I did not say mass production of any kind was ok, you did. But it's a fact that because of eating meat, more plants need to be produced than when everyone was eating plants, simply because the animals need to eat enormous amounts to grow.

People like you don't want to hear this and directly go in defending mode.

Sure, not eating meat won't save the world in one blow, there are simply to many people on earth to live in a sensible way, but it helps many people, it saves lives to not eat meat. What would be best in my eyes to grow our own food again. It's more healthy, tastes better, no energy loss and when a big natural disaster happens, you'll be able to hang in there longer.

Again, don't believe me, investigate, I'm a journalist and I made it my business to know how everything is interconnected in our world. So, poorly made arguments? Go look and find out bro. Go save a bunch a people every day not eating meat Wink Do you even Dare to investigate the consequences of your actions? Comon man Smile

If god meant us to be vegetarian then why did she make all the animals out of meat?
  • 6 4
I'm a vegetarian and I love it, would not go back ever. I feel much better now.

 true, no more carrion!
  • 2 3
hahaha vegetarianism is so stupid. can you please explain to me what is wrong about eating meat?
  • 4 0
It is overall not healthy for you in many ways, you are much more prone to heart desease and the meat industry is the biggest pollutant on the planet. Plus the ways they kill the animals are fu**ed up.
  • 3 0
And yes katinasd, i feel so much better it is just crazy!!!! I'm not tired all the time and i have lost about 50 lbs. But there is absolutly no point of us debating this on PB cause very few people understand the science behind it and just assume we mame all of it up.

Thanks paulclarke. your kind of right that it has no use talking about this here. But I will explain very simple and direct.

Every action of ours has a effect somewhere else in the world. To grow 1kg meat, you need 13.000 liter water, and 8kg food (plants) and a lot of energy (oil) to distribute it. With this water, food and energy many many people can be saved. In other words. As a meat eater, you are a bigger kannibal than that the original kannibals used to be
Some day we must wake up to this, that other people are dying as a direct effect of our compulsive consumption of these products. Please don't believe me, go look for information yourself. Your not a primate, your a intelligent human being. Don't just say something but investigate your every action and how it effects our world.

And yes, it's more healthy, cheap. environment friendly, etc, etc, etc.
  • 3 1
Cheap vegetables aren't healthy vegetables, I don't want to spend €20/kg on carrots.

Or you guys think mass production of vegetables doesn't include dangerous chemicals?

Do the vegetables fly to your doorstep on their own? I don't think so tim, they also travel in trucks/planes/boats that use petrol.

Do you know what the main cause of deforestation is? agriculture, there is simply no way to produce that many vegetables without cutting down precious trees and destroying forests to have more arable land.

Not to mention that the chemicals used pollute water and kill native species like there's no tomorrow.

So don't say meat eaters AKA normal humans are to blame for the problems of the world, kthnx.

I have no problem with vegetarians/vegans, but when you start flaunting your shit with poorly made arguments... Facepalm

I'm familiar with the supposed consequences of eating meat, but if you want you can remind me again.
  • 2 0
@ katinas you said many people can be saved.. if we save all the "humans" in afrika they will over populate for sure (more than they are now)..the world can NOT be saved.. same as it is not the meaning that every human can live or stay alive.... there are not enough resources for every one in this world.. we are overcrouded as it is now.. a new plague is bound to happen ,. if we cure aids or cancer something new will pop up.. its mother natures path of life.. it contains one fact.. death.. that makes the cycle complete.. everything is eternal.. and is part of the cycle..
this is my most serious post of this year Smile
  • 1 0
Thanks Cyberhawk, but it's a bit of a crooked comparison you make.
Overpopulation is natural, people dying of the actions of other humans is not. Sure, death is natural, but we were not born to die or to kill. We are here to live and learn and most of all to be happy. And becoming happy doing things that kill others has nothing to do with nature. Because in nature, sure, animals take each other lives when they really need to survive, but other wise they are really friendly and peaceful. Humans at the other hand kill for fun. So in that way, animals are much more evolved in living together with nature.

And this is something they understand over there in Afrika better than we do here. They live close to nature so an over population will not happen so fast.

Us at the other hand, we are overpopulating much more and one day we will know the defects of this. When oil runs out just to say one thing.

What i'm saying is: Try to see the consequences of your actions, just your own actions, and change them if they harm others as much as you can, and you'll do a great job. You don't have to change the world, just change yourself and if we do it all, the world will change automatically.
Peace.
  • 2 1
now you are being a hippy.. i say its natural selection.. and because of the pascifistic order now.. we cant even put serial killers and child molestors to death..cause we all have rights to live.. i say we dont.. you act like a dick.. you should die... not all humans are born "socially evolved".. i say new world order .. and not the one bush wants.

IMO anorexic people are the most environment-friendly people out there, they don't eat anything and they do it all to safe the world Smile
  • 1 0
Cyberhawk, dude, you're kind of out off line don't you think?. And you are totally killing yourself here. First you say: We can't kill killers and child molesters and how bad that is and the second thing you say is: you should DIE. Uuhm. Is that your ego talking is that who you truly are and like to be?

Now you see, we all have the potency to become an outlaw, even you Smile These people also deserve a second change. Because, and you don't want to hear this, you are killing indirectly already by eating meat. So should we kill you now as well? Do we need to keep acting as F'in Primates? Or can we just step it up big time and see the consequences of our actions and learn? It's math mate, simple, everyone can do 1 and 1 is two. Even you can Smile

Not seeing the consequences of our actions doesn't make it ok Smile
  • 2 0
Every action has consequences, direct or indirect, as a journalist you probably know this.

Do you think being a vegetarian has no consequences on other people/animals?
  • 2 0
To all vegetarians: I would say 90% of the meat i eat, the animals were born to be killed. It's not like they are out there killing all of our animals they breed them in captivity for food. I see nothing wrong with that. Survival of the fittest and the humans seem to be winning.

A second chance to what? To kill even more innocent people? To rape even more innocent children? f*ck that if someone's that messed up he/she should be locked up safely so no other innocent people and their families will get hurt.
I hate that part about the left side of politics, they don't give a shit about the victims it's all about 'ah that poor child molestor must be so sad now lets give him another chance and let him rape more kids so he feels better'.
Now you're talking about knowing the consequences of eating meat, but they obviously knew the consequences of killing or raping way before they actually did it. That's not just a mistake they did, they chose to do that themselves. How can you anyone feel sorry for that?
And what about the victims and coming victims if he gets released? Is the freedom of the killer more important than the lives of all the innocent people who get killed because they let the killer out to get some freedom?
Think about the innocent victims and their families who had no choice, who were going to school or work and got stabbed to death for nothing. Think about the girlfriend/boyfriend/husband/wife of the person who got killed randomly. The emptiness in their hearts and in the hearts of their parents, who have never seen their kids come home on one day. Think about the empty place at every evenings family dinner. Would you say 'sure, release the person who killed my girlfriend and my parents for no reason, I don't want him to feel lonely in jail'? And the chance of them murdering again will be very big. Could you be able to forgive yourself if you were the one who let the killer out, and he killed more people after that? You would blame yourself for making the decision which killed many more innocent people right? I don't think we can let that happen.

the law is written by people.. and can be re-written as we see fit.. do you think the world as it is now,.. is as fine as swiss clockwork ?
  • 2 0
If someone took the life of someone else, I think he lost every right to live himself aswell. That person should go to jail for the rest of his life. For the justice, for the person he killed, for the victims family, and to prevent him killing any more innocent people. Fuck the freedom of those who don't deserve it anymore
  • 1 0
That was ment as one message but it was too big to fit in one post so I had to rewrite the 2nd part quickly :p

i just noticed this "In other words. As a meat eater, you are a bigger kannibal than that the original kannibals used to be " katinasd what the f*ck? So you are saying that by eating other animals that makes me a cannibal? You should really look up the word so you can know what it means and how to spell it. can·ni·bal (kn-bl)
n.
1. A person who eats the flesh of other humans.
2. An animal that feeds on others of its own kind.

just to save you some time

@cyberhawk: I was describing the 'left' type of thinking about what you and dennis where talking about and how I feel about that. That's why I'm happy 'right' got bigger so they can fix lame things like this.
I also love how the feyenoord hooligans were posted on big screens in rotterdam so people can see who they were and tell the police. Also I love how if you got a shop and it gets robbed, you won't go to jail or get a huge ticket for trying to safe your shop
  • 2 0
You guys are so full of shit Smile the fact that I feel a sort of compassion towards people who lost themselves in crimes does not automatically meen that I don't feel the greatest compassion towards victims, of course I do, it's just lame to lock people up instead of really helping them to get back in to society. Just wait when someone close to you get's into jail Smile you'll see.

It's just your shortsightedness that you are not willing to see this. I have been on the ultra right side for a long time voting PVV in Holland, and i was pro death panalty, just because I was only guessing and seeing with my eyes what the media told me instead of really investigating how things work on a larger scale. Now i'm on the left side, not extreme left, just left.

But I'm out, this is getting us nowhere. Sure, do what you do, it's your right. But it's funny how you won't listen to my arguments but do listen to arguments of a corrupt government or media, just to say a few Smile I guess you're just afraid to see, and those call themselves Freeriders. What ever. Enjoy your so called lame replacement of freedom on your bikes that support our corrupt financial system Smile Slaves you are.
I rather open my eyes and take responsibility.

you know what indoctrination is.. your on it.. childmolesters and murderers who killed without cause .. should simply die.. that would make the world a better place ! a few vegetarians more will not change a thing.. burocracy is corruption corruption is treason and treason is punishable by death.. simple as that ..

Nothing happens without cause Smile Intention: Idea: believe: action: realization.

Being totally honest, I'm more of a 'middle' politics-wise. but in my opinion we have become way too left so we need right to get back in the middle. I think it's pretty much the same with everything, none of the outer sides are good, as they are 'too much of it'. I think if you try to take the best of both you'll end up with the best results. until shortly we have been left for a long time and now we need so right to even things out. -my opinion-

 @Cyberhawk

"they are not hippy's but all vegetarians have to eat other products more to cope with the lack of vitamins and other nutricians.. which you miss not eating meat"

You really don't know what you're talking about, we do not miss anything, our nutrition scheme is way better balanced then that of a carnivore Wink And it's hassle free, I lost more than 110lbs after I turned into being a veggie. I feel more alive then ever before! Smile
  • 5 0
No human is a carnivore, we're called omnivorous.

Not everyone can pull off being vegan/vegetarian, in some people cutting meat out of their diet increases cholesterol.

We're all different, and a diet based on vegetables AND meat gets the best of both worlds.

Just because meat is in our diet doesn't meat we eat it raw straight off the floor, vegetables are still around 60-70% of my diet, but I can't live without fish or a good steak.
  • 2 0
I will put and end to this right now. The world is a fucked up place so just deal with it and get over it. None of you can change it so just drop it.
  • 2 0
@hyde : i do know what i am talking about,., and if you lost weight so much.. you were not eating healthy.. nothing wrong with meat.. but with every word where there is TOO added to, isnt good..
@ brett236 : your the kind of pesimistic people who will never change the world.. we came pretty far till now.. we CAN change..
  • 1 0
you eating a fucking carrot wont change anything!
  • 1 0
@Cyberhawk, you're right, I was not living healthy back then, but you're wrong on the missing out on stuff part... I had blood work done recently and I'm strong as an ox Wink

No nutrition deficiencies at all, my skin is healthy, not pale like most people believe vegans are. RFOL and I definitely do not have a funky body odour like a lot folks claim about vegan people lol
  • 2 0
i drink beer/ .a lot.. i smoke..including weed,. i eat the best i can,.but it could be better,.,. i stopped smoking weed recently but that was after the sport test i did before the megavalanche,.. i baffled the doctor who took my test..in '10 and this year.. i am pretty spot on.. better than the roadies they checked,.. i was one of the few who COULD finish the bike test till the end, 140 resistance, so it really doesnt say anything.. i think the bigger part is mentally.. so if you are doing fine now.. cool |!
but dont try to preach it like its the way forward.. or its better than peeps with a normal diet.. ?
  • 2 0
I definitely agree on the preaching part: some people are veggies, some are not. People should respect the choices of other people. Once you stop doing that and start preaching to everyone you're just annoying.
I respect the choice of vegetarians, but I'm not a vegetarian myself. You won't see me bitching all the time about how they should stop being vegetarians? Same with everything else in the world. Except for people who ride freestyle scooters, come on safe up some money for a real bike lol
  • 2 3
I'm vegan for about 2 years now and I actively encourage folks to stop wearing fur and leather and to consume less or no meat, dairy and sea food at all. I openly start discussions in public places with people that wear fur, it get's me in iffy situations sometimes but I don't care, an animals life has as much value and rights as a human one. Proud to say I'm a volunteer @ Sea Shepherd and PETA

We humans are raping mother earth and using her if we have one stored away as a spare! That has to stop, we have to reduce our carbon footprint drastic.
  • 2 0
well none of you go shouting at a lion when it eats a fucking deer!
  • 1 1
Dude seriously?! When wild animals hunt and kill they are in their own habitat, that's in their nature and instinct in order to survive...

Humans however breed animals for their meat, fur and skin, nothing natural about that. People whom eat meat should think about how inhumane these animals are brought up; being forced fed... drugged with medicine like antibiotics and what not, packed in small cages with no space to move around and the brutal ways they are transported and killed. Or what about the new born calves taken away from their mother because the dairy farmer wants the cow's milk? And the millions of male chicks that get gassed because they are "useless" for the egg industry. Or the 100.000's of minks being skinned alive for their fur?
