Cain-bitches: its not really 180 backflip to 180 its more 180 to flair/ 180 to 180 backflip cause he doesnt lean back at the start? thats what i'd head a cashroll was anyways!
When first looking it looks more like cork 720, but actually when looking closer, technically it is more closer to 720 misty flip than cork because he leans forwards, not backwards. Misty flip on skis: youtu.be/zedlLOVnDt4
i was thinking 720 rodeo but could also be a misty? Was wondering when biking would step up to the kind of rotations that snowboarders and skiers are pushing. Double cork one day?
Cain-bitches: thats why i said flair/ backflip 180 and its defo not a flip 180 to late 180 that would basically be a flip 3 but this he doesnt lean back at the start. he does a 180 into flip to kinda late 180! www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sq2dWhuXTws
daniel dhers does more a defined backflip during his rotation of this trick, this guy does more of a upsidedown sideways roll'age - still ridiculously amazing! haha
Great action! great shot, but the quality is... meh.... kinda shitty HDR-is and over saturated...
P.s. that's just my personal opinion.
Generally speaking - I don't like HDRs
I know what you're saying but I'd hardly call it HDR. True HDR isn't possible with action, and this is just a little bit of extra fill slider I think. Personally it's not over done at all...
I care about quality but this photo is POD because it's a sick sequence of a crazy trick, not because it's a beautiful photo. But having said that if I thought it was a bad shot it wouldn't make POD no matter what he was doing...
I agree with Ian, the photo is a decent shot. Perhaps a little over saturated but the trick is what makes this photo and the sequence is great.
It could be the camera though, I've never heard of the Unknown by Unknown, but I'm sure it has great ISO cababilities and many pixels for you togs in the know.
sick cashroll.... i believe this guy is the only one on earth to pull it on a mountainbike. ive seen a video from him earlier this year. to all of you: it cant be a 180 to flair because a flair is a flip-air! so its actually a 180 to backflip 180. or in snowboard language: a backside rodeo 720....or perhaps something similar :-)
First of all... Watch a ski or snowboard movie from the past 20 years, and you will probably see a RODIO performed (not so different hey?). On a bike they call it a Cash-Roll (and it's awesome, but not that difficult to comprehend).
Secondly, for those who actually think the laws of physics are being broken - they're not. Neither Einstien, Hawking, Heisenberg, or any other physicist would take issue with the motion of this rider. The Newtonian laws of physics arn't being broken, and they were written in the 1600's... come to think of it, Aristotle's (300 BC) laws aren't even being broken, and they're based on the Ether.
i agree, but i think its more of a misty 7, as he is pushing forward rather than pulling backwards... it also kind of looks like it could be a front barrel roll into a late oppo 360 (or 270) though, as if he had landed at fame 6 that's what it would have been..
such a cool looking trick though! cant wait to see it no handed on a mountain bike though.
ok... pop off the lip into a dumped 3 then, turn (completely transfer weight) to the other shoulder really f'in hard, thus flipping backwards sideways and during the flip time look for the last 90/180.... in my opinion lol... air awareness my friends.
Just call it a cash roll and stop arguing what it is...even doing them doesn't help you understand it(foam pit fun only for me, haha) look where you want to go and that's where you'll be. Either way it's dope, it's clean, and judging by the shirtless-ness and lack of wounds he has them dialed...
Cashroll is most definitely a frontflip 360. look at the way he rotates of the lip... its a frontflip, and a 360, but when you acctually kick the frontie, it slows rotation, so it looks like a 180 to frontflip (now backflip) to 180
awesome....but how mad would it be if (looking at the point in the picture where he is about to land but is facing back at the ramp) yeah how mad it would be if that was his exit point - as in 2 ramps leading in the same direction and he does that trick off the first ramp and lands facing the way he came back down the 2nd ramp.
damnnnnn... I thought it was a 3 at first and was crazy impressed even just with that. Sick to see bikes starting to throw as big as skis and snowboards. Rodeo 7? Are we almost at double corks??
i believe its called the "cash roll" invented by daniel dhers. its basically a 180, to flair. first time ive seen it done on a mtb and it is by far way more sick looking on a mtb. nice pod
he's already flipping in the 1st 180, so I'd go with 360 frontflip if we wanted to get technical. If we didn't want to get technical I'd just call it sick as hell! haha
sick photo, its like a video game trick. its tricky to comprehend but its like the 360 backlip but forwards. its all one trick so if you've done a 180 and then a backflip then its a frontflip and another 180 makes it a 360, i wish people would not argue about it.
hahaha thanks Fred! it is a 180 backflip 180, but as you say that kinda makes a 360 frontflip. Look at the way he's rotating & ignore the spin... there is no doubt that that is a front flip. Then the 2x 180 that is a 360... so 360 frontflip... pretty simple. & Fred, we're not arguing, just discussing the trick & trying to make sense of how it works... don't think anyone's getting worked up or anything about this.
haha! thank you dude. its a smooth rolling spinning trick, its hard to work out, i wonder how you even start trying it? must be a sick rider. cool, i'm glad noone is argueing.
It's 2 full rotations so thats one forwards (vertically) and one sideways (horizontally).
It cannot be a flair to 180 because that involves something happening in the middle of the trick to change his trajectory, like landing on a deck and hopping off again.
"Look at the way he's rotating & ignore the spin... there is no doubt that that is a front flip." I think the problem with ppl saying 180 to backflip is that they are trying to combine the 2 rotations before the trick has started & split the trick into segments instead of looking at the whole thing as 1 trick. if someone does a 360 you don't say, "wow, look at that 180 to 180. If he was doing a backflip his feet would go up in front of him ( in relation to his position when he hits the launch), which it's not. He throws his upper body forward & down. Because he's doing a 180 while doing that it does look like a 180 backflip... but the trick is only half way. When he's upside down he's done half the frontflip 360, so he's facing the opposite way to a normal front flip. He then completes the flip & the other 180. The entire trick together is a frontflip 360... aka cash roll (on a bike), rodeo 720 (on snowboard or skiis) & a bio 720 (on rollerblades) ... sorry about the essay haha but hope that clears things up a bit.
gotta say that's best description of this trick I've ever heard! People, please listen eric! Trick is named cashroll, I know for example brett does it differently, but it's still basically just the same trick, from my opinion 360 frontflip.
Look at frames 1-3, the first 180, then 4-8 is a tweaked fakie backflip, notice his front wheel is leading the flip, if it was a frontflip, his rear wheel would be leading.. Although if this was a video I would have no clue what's going down, these look sooo unnatural, just shittin' on Newton's laws. But when it's broken up into a sequence like this, it's easier to decipher what's actually going on.
Look at the second frame, he's leaning FORWARDS. How does that seem like a backflip?!
And think about what you're saying, the FRONT wheel is leading the flip, and he's turned 180 degrees (halfway through the full 360), therefore if it was a 360 or 180 backflip or flair or whatever, the BACK wheel would be leading the flip.
no, it's not too bright, it's just that there's a bit of fill added so the blacks aren't really black. The brights are okay, just the shadows have been filled in...
I shoot single shots in vertical format and then stitch them together in Photoshop. That way you'll have less optical distortion, a bigger angle of view and more details in the shot.
Why dont you go tell Daniel Dhers a cash roll is a 360 frontflip and see what he says, ask anyone for that matter a cash roll is a 180 back flip to 180. So just stop pretending you know everything.
I watched the video again and actually youre wrong he said " was wanted to do a 360 frontflip a while back and that didnt really work" and also he said "at the end i feel im coming out of a flair" thats because he is. sorry dude its a 180 flip 180
Yeah he says it didnt really work A WHILE BACK and now it does.
He says it FEELS like coming out of a flair due to the rotation needed to finish the 360 frontflip.
There are a million videos of 360 BACKflips on youtube and they all look nothing like a cash roll, that should be proof enough that it's a 360 frontflip.
You're obviously not going to listen to me so just email someone who can do one or something.
yeah, Bennys been pulling them for a while now. Im pretty sure he's pulled it to dirt too, theres only one video of his cashroll though, and thats to resi..
