Selected by Ian Hylands - Something about this just seems wrong, but at the same time it's a great shot. I almost wish they had tried the wall ride, but I'm pretty sure it would have ended badly...
You may laugh and say two guys on a tandem are gay, but they will have the last laugh as they bullet past you. Remember kids tandems are outlawed in road races because the give an unfair advantage. May be slower in the rock gardens though.
We used to sell Ellsworth... they had a full squish in the line-up but we never sold one.
I made a cyclocross-ish tandem using a Burley frame. on the road, it was sick how fast you could get haulin'... nobody on a solo rider bike could even come close to our speed. l'm pretty sure it was easy for us to maintain around 30mph crankin' at 90rpm-ish.
now, off road, that's a little different. you could get haulin' on the straight-away's but technical stuff wasn't quite as easy. you really had to be in tune with each other, especially when trying to get over logs, through tight spots, etc.... chuckle, as pilot, l missed timed getting up and over a log ---- Pa---THUNK!!!!... came to an instant stop, got two teeth in my back from it too.
Pretty much every shot in this dudes album is better than this one.. they are all more POD worthy than this one!! Really looks weird with this lighting too. Brain.Can't.Compute.
why?! why not? I mean there are 365 PODs a year does every one need to demonstrate highly skilled riding? I think this is a perfect POD, a f*ckin tandem mtn bike who on here doesn't want to see that?
maybe just to make people think. who out there is saying "i'll hit that wall ride on that bike"? probably nobody is volunteering to ride on the back, but whatever.
@superdanu, alongside demonstrating something awesome!!!! this is also a great shot! pretty sure hylands know what he's talking about too, he probally picks half the POD's you do like. right?
