Wade Simmons? I heard he was washed up. (love that scene!)

I don't see why people have to hate on 29ers, if you don't like them, then don't use them . it really doesn't matter
  • 3 1
people seem to hate on everthing that is diffrent its so stupid who the hell cares about wheel size or whatever as long as u ride with some style and have fun who cares its a web site about bikes from small to big!!
  • 3 0
Who cares what size he's riding! It's a sick picture, such a steep gradient..well deserved POD!
  • 1 0
man i like the tree that is growing in the side of the hill that makes it look more steep, very good' nature is so cool
  • 4 1
could be talking out of my ass, butt.... pretty sure 29ers will take over one day. what other directions can the sport go. if you want to go bigger, your gonna need bigger wheels. maybe you should start learning to ride one now, before its to late.
  • 1 1
Matt Hunter nailed a 70ft gap on 26" wheels and 8.2 inches of travel...not sure about going bigger haha.

 @kyleeiji: This comment aged well.

Is Wade rocking wagon wheels? Awesome shot - looks so smooth.

awesome.. there's a clip in some movie i have where Wade's in the shop and makes some comment dissing 29ers.. "zero advantage" or something like that.. from a few years ago... he seemed pretty passionate about it, maybe he was kidding.. hilarious... sick photo anyway.
  • 2 1
Any other shots of him, but sending it…?
  • 4 0
i love the huge tree in the background, clinging on to the rock

 guy sucks ?

The moss on the rock face makes it look like a giant, green waterfall, this emphasises how smooth and flowy this shot is.
  • 1 0
@njdfan101 Yes, everyone here is just as ballsy as wade.... its just what we do for shits and kicks
  • 3 1
 hey "Joshkelly605" dont talk crap
we dont see you doing any of this
  • 16 3

  • 1 0
wait... both were on am bikes...both on steep... i see no pattern.

Sweet shot! I rode a Stumpjumper FSR 29er the other day and was pleasantly surprised by how well it climbed and descended. Not quite sure if I'm sold on it for myself but I can definitely see how 29ers could be a perfect fit for certain riding styles and terrain. Obviously in the right hands they can handle the steep stuff too.

29ers fo life!!! And to stay true to pinkbike commenting standards I must now take it personally that you have a differing opinion than me and now hit you with a barrage of insults " I don't want to talk to you no more, you empty headed animal food trough wiper. I fart in your general direction. Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries"..... See you at the shop on wednesday....

 best movie of our time^^

One thing is for sure, you can always tell when a photo was taken by Sterling. He has a knack for creating a personal style within a fairly common image. The use of riders colors accentuates the overall image. I love how you can see the top of the roll in but not the bottom. It creates a curiosity to know more. Sometimes leaving the viewer wanting more is better then telling the whole story. Nice work!

This is the kind of trail that I have nightmares about...

THIS WAS AN ARTICLE IN MBUK 2 YEARS AGO HOW CAN THIS BE POD NOW???!!!!
(wade simmons rides north shore and tells us what he really thinks of 29" wheels.....)
  • 1 0
as long as we are having an 'ok' time when riding bicycles ,shouldnt matter what you preference fyi i have had a fully rigid Haro Mary SS for four years and havent warped a wheel yet. its like holding a gattling gun but fun as shit!! brings me back to the mid 80's everytime i shred it. have fun peeps!
  • 1 0
incidently im in the market for a nice front fork with roughly 3in travel..lol
  • 5 2
What was that about 29ers not being capable?
  • 1 0
is a raw intense tracer 29er?
  • 1 0
no, check out the shock orientation....and isn't wade still rocky? could be a new altitude29, maybe done right this time?
  • 10 6
for fuks sake, this thing is doable on 24", stop behaving like size of wheel matter. Few years ago everyone was going for Moar travel now it's wheel size. If you can't ride such stuff on a 26" hardtail with V-brakes then you are still the same rider even if you clean it on V10 carbon or Epic 29er. You are either good or you suck no matter the bike you have and how many likes you get on FB by posting your GoPro HD vid. Nobody normal said 29ers are not capable. 3 years ago people were telling me not to buy Nomad - such bikes were considered XC bikes in "gravity" world - too weak for "shredding the gnarr". Suddenly these are tough ass machines for mega avalanche race.

People are having stupid opinions all the time, just like something tells me that those "modern" latest and greatest "Slack and Low geos are worth as much as bottomless travel bikes with Monster forks 10 years back when everyone wanted to huck. Yea hucking was stupid - so will people tell you in 10 years about what you think is good now.

Ride the bike you have and stop wondering what is better or worse, what matters is what you can do with it. This is where most fun comes from: skills and fitness, not some stupid new trend

It's a Rocky Mountain Altitude 29er. Keep in mind that Wade could do that on a tricycle.
  • 3 0
26, 29, 650b or whatever else anything can be ridden. How can we tell if one is more efficient? Racing may be the only way to determine this. Super D, Enduro and DH are all relevant format to highlight strength and a weakness. Until we get enough stats one way or another it will be impossible to tell. Right now as far as DH is concerned 29ers seem to have an uphill battle.
  • 2 0
you can do this without a bike...save yourself $5 Grand and just jump......
  • 1 0
 JUMP! You can fly

 Messing with Sasquatch #49

Sasquatch 1: Did Anyone else see that altitude 29 pass by?
Sasquatch 2,3:Twenty-niner No man, I think you've been drinking too much!
Wade: HA! HA!

Is that the roller on DS of seymour? that's things sketchy looking to say the least.
  • 1 0
This on Cypress... Digger had this line from his earlier movies. Sterling has shot this line before as well.
  • 1 0
where on Cypress? I've never seen it and have ridden basically everything... Looks like DS, but again, never seen it. Even Wade would ride a bigger bike down the majority of DS trails... I was thinking it was on Fromme somewhere?
  • 1 0
sort of by Overflow... good luck finding it though. Just a one stunt wonder.
  • 1 0
