I was allways annoyed when there where good Fox forks for sell whit 100mm travel and whit 40-60% discount... the only reeson for discount and noone to buy them was that they where tapered... whit this frame could atleast get a perfect fork for cheep price www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=53045 317€ for a 919€ fork!
That pretty close to a great frame. Geo look good, bb not too low, head angle good. The only issues are the tapered headtube (no need for it and 1.5 cups too heavy), this build has a weird stack under stem to compensate for the stupid flat bars, then theres price. Lot of great ht frames out there and getting cheaper all the time.
well this just means it's compatible with both 1 1/8th AND tapered headtubes
and structurally, a bigger diameter has a higher strength to weight ratio. Notice how w 1 1/8 steertube forks are always heavier than their 1.5 version?
I think this tapered headtube is the way to go. Maybe there are few tapered steer tubes to select from but all the nice forks do it, and you can still run 1 1/8 so in my opinion, this is very practical.
