I know it's all down to personal preference but i'm sorry, that kit completely looks like a set of pajamas.

To me this so looks so steezy and fast it blows my mind. Difference in perspectives I guess, coming from racing a kit is better to me because it breathes but still protects you so it is for sure better for performance.

Hey all I run is tld because to me, the looks of their helmets cannot be surpassed, same with their kits. Nothing else comes close. But opinions are like a$sholes...

to me anyway the whole point in race kits is to STAND OUT, especially if your sponsored!
also helps that they breath better when the body is working Hard during a race.

Is it good design or bad design? I say good design, it may look horrible & loud, but much like the Sam Hill kit, it's instantly recognisable as TLD, which is what they want as a brand.

Then you're buying the wrong kit.
The right one should make you feel well ventilated in hot conditions. My Astars kit feels great in summer heat

I really wish TLD would stop churning out all these garbage designs , with a clusterf*ck of random florescent colours or spammy styling. Way too much colour. And they haven't been doing it only to jerseys and pants, their whole product line in the last few years has been rather ridiculous and a tad goofy at times. You know what that does to a kit? It makes it look cheap that's what. I'm not trashing TLD , I'm just criticizing a brand that I'm a big fan of. Without criticism how would they progress?

Yeah, you really stand out when there are hundreds of people with your exact same kit. If someone needs a kit to stand out it's a good sign you might want to work on your riding skills.

@ PLC07 no hate here and Not trying to get too deep into the flaming but, "hundreds of people with your exact same kit"? even 10 people with the exact same kit? I have never been to a DH race when there have been so many people wearing the exact kit that I begin to get confused on who is who. Unless its a team, then yeah, because it is a team. But when im photographing a race I know each individual racer that is worth photographing by kit and bike, not by name or number plate.

No offense taken. I used to have one of the less flashy tld kits and I've seen many people with it. Even people using the same kit and riding the same bike I did. My point is that tld probably sells thousands of them so if you're hoping to be a beautiful and unique snowflake when you buy a tld kit, you might end up disappointed. If you don't care though, more power to you, tld makes quality stuff.

I actually love that helmet & ordered it. Then I saw this pic &changed my mind just b/c the paint scheme for some reason makes the helmet look cheaper. Don't know if that makes ant sense...but I still got the D3 just a different color. Can't stand Moto pants on the bike. Too much swoosh noise walking & pedaling..plus they catch on all the zip ties on a frame.

There are a lot of XC riders on the Front Range who are scoffing at a DH bike on i>their/i> trails.

The Green Mtn. trails aren't the biggest, but damn are they fun to make laps on.
Box'o'rocks is babyhead heaven! And if you stop about 2/3 - 3/4 of the way up the mtn, you can find great pieces of petrified wood.

im not a fan of the kit myself but to eaches own.i do like alot of troy lees work this on the other hand is not one of them,if the whole point is to stand out and be noticed thn yup this is the one but for straight up ripping gear i leave the house in my cloths and i ride in the same ones i shop with and go to the old ladys house with.i make my statement in the air haha nygas not my style at all jeans and a dickies will get it done just the same,but hey to eaches own and very nice photo work bye the way great timing with the light and the shot its pod worthy for sure just hate the kit but so what.usualy when i ride someone finds something they hate about me thats life and we all live it POD FOR U great job mate

Yep the point was to be seen on this shot. all about the contrast in colors between the rider and background. If you are sponsored by a shop or component company, they want you to be seen in a big way.

Look at the top dirt jumpers. They don't wear anything more special than your regular jeans/tshirt combo and they still get massive exposure... Same goes for a lot of freeriders. It's nice to get visibility but it's not a garantee for results while results will always bring visibility. Can't ignore the guy on the top step of the podium...

Yes, I understand teams want to stand out at world cup events but if they all turn to fancy colors, no one stands out anymore. In that case a guy riding in jeans/tshirt would stand out more wouldn't he? It isn't a world cup event anyway but yeah, it is still a great picture and I understand that the rider wouldnt pop as much without the kit. It's just that it sounds like a paradox when people say they're doing it to stand out more when everybody else is doing the same thing.

There are over 40 species of the Bird of Paradise. Many of the birds of paradise are so brilliant and colorful that at first glance in a given species they all look the same. But a female bird of paradise will always chose the best kept, best looking, and brightest mate.

But If your presence on a bike is less than desirable then that photo will get scrapped. (There is always an exception.) By having your sponsors on said kit you are preforming one of the main purposes of getting noticed, and that is promotion, and endorsing your sponsors. Its not a fashion show out there but in ANY pro level sport the athlete always looks good and flys his/her colors. That was a rant and I am sorry.

I still think those colorways look retarded. Like a bad 80s flashback. There are so many pros running retarded looking kits that I find it refreshing when one is dressed in more neutral colors. That's why I think it doesn't make them stand out anymore. Looking at the other comments, it seems like im not the only one on this boat. It's only an opinion though so if the rider likes it then so be it, more power to him.
