mm, not idea but just chucking out ideas, any chance was lose and had some movement and on a hard landing buggered it? Or even looks like it's not s'posed to be that close to the other side? Was there like a shim that went between it?
  • 1 0
its not meant to be that close no. but it is cos of how weak it now is due to the cracks so i went closer

Definitely over tightened them I say .You dont need that much torque on them. I did a similar goof on my marz fork and cracked the bolt and nut . Hopefully the warranty will cover the lowers. Then next time just snug them down. .You shouldn't have to tighten them past 90 inch pounds at the most .

i followed the instructions exactly ....

Then that would make good for the warranty then. I remember they had issues with the through axle a whiles back something about having problems keeping it tight . So it may be the problem. Here is the link. look at the installation part www.bikerumor.com/2011/04/28/long-term-with-the-circus-manitou-circus-expert-reviewed

 i only lightly tightened really
  • 1 0
Yeah . I know . but like I mentioned on the 24 thread if the axle is too thin ( manitou's fault not your's ) Then it places te drop out in a compromised position . Causing stress to a section that otherwise in the correct position would take a lot more .

 okayy

sorry but how old are you ?
  • 1 1
This is a fault that Manipoo's have had for years. You don't need to crank them up too tight to do this. Granted, this was probably still overdone, but it shouldn't happen. You would think manitou would learn after a few years, but no. Anyway, end this stupid argument.
