That comment is so overused it hasn't been funny for the past 1000 other times other people have used it. So instead of repeating the same comment over and over why not think of your own and be creative.
Sorry njdfan101, this is the first time I've ever seen it used in this context, but then I don't read every single comment on every single photo so shit like that can quite easily pass me by. Apologies if this reply isn't creative enough for you
It is not like we are arguing like kids just because one used the comment (someone else wanted to use) before them... Awwwwww- and suddenly all the toys fell out of his pram!
Colin - it gets better and better, if you've done so much stuff of this kind, I believe you are the very guys to establish something like "6 Great Descents of the Alps"
I mean you guys really do are a MTB version of what climbers were doing in 1930s on Great north faces or Extreme Skiers in 1970s. I try to ride lots of steep sketchy stuff to be able to one day ride things like those, at least for once I would like to.
My best guess is it's a via ferrata cable. Via ferrata could be best described as extreme mountain hiking - it's a mix between hiking and rock climbing. Cables are already in place and you can secure yourself to them while ascending (most of the time it's an ascent). Very fun to do and a very nice way to get a taste of rock climbing without all the extra equipment and regulations.. So yes, it's sort of a handrail.
That pretty much illustrates how sketchy the trail is to ride on! Very sick. Dolomites are still on my to-do list but I think I have to improve my skills first to get more out of the trip.
hats off.
i just can't stop looking at this picture and thinking about how great it is in terms of colour, composition, scenery, balance, clarity, makes-me-want-to-ridenicity... i would put this photo over my fireplace.
fucking well done.
