Having watched the video you can appreciate it a little more...but still just doesnt quite do it for me. All im wondering is if that heron-looking bird is real or not
He has a fish pond too, notice the plastic heron at the bottom right of the pic, you have them to deter herons from coming down and eating your fish as herons are solitary animals, and so won't finish with another heron around.
Notice the plastic chairs all stacked up, I guess the wooden ones are more popular.
Deep sympathy towards the plastic chair family. Hope they get used very soon, its only fair..
Yeah, it's kind of cool I guess but the rider is lost in the background. Focus seems to be too much on a blue house. That may have been the idea but as you say "not doing it for me..."
Can anyone explain to me how a POD is chosen?? Is it any of the following??. 1. Number of views and faves. 2. Sole discretion of Mr.H and his colleagues.. 3. Random. 4. Canon or Nikon.
Not necessarily 100% true. My buddy has gotten VOD several times and he doesnt film pro riders. I think its alot easier for the random exceptional films to slip through the cracks because of the number of videos uploaded. Not to mention the more professional videographers are followed alot closer than someone who has never uploaded a video before.
Very nice! The photo seems to be picked straight out of a random lifestyle magazine, with the rider nicely tucked away in the scenery. Who doesn't want to live there and ride the jumps anytime you want? Some of you say it doesn't deserve POD because it's not the gnarliest terrain or biggest trick. I can understand that, but still: POD stands for photo of the day and not trick or steeze of the day.
definately not POD worthy, not even a good shot for the location or anything exciting happening with the rider, too far away also, and the side of a house? not the best fore-ground ever. :s dont usually comment but pinkbike, im dissapointed!
I like it. The perspective is great when you consider we get so many similar shots on POD. Real life and riding bikes combined. For those of us who have to pay rent, go to work and spend anything left over on riding, this sums it up. Also - it looks like a great place to have a BBQ, a few beers and a DJ session.
I think the shot has nice composure, although the rider is not in the optimum place. I still think that this is a great photo and i cant wait till my backyard looks like that
At first i thought this was a photo of a house THEN i noticed the rider, not realy something i should i have to do with a POD.
Nice shot But its not POD material
