Main spots near Aberdeen are Kirkhill and Blacktop as I can get there easily without a car! There's also a few cool places near my girlfriend's house which is near Keith so take it with me on the train occasionally.

that's fair enough, you ever been to durris? best place near aberdeen IMO. Scolty is amazing too.

 Nice! I went the opposite way with this... was like a mini DH bike when I got it but I've been slowly turning into a more AM rig. Hit the scales at 34.5lbs which is not bad!

I've never been to Durris but I know where it is... just need some free time to actually pedal out there. Tried Scolty but it was years ago so it's probably totally different now

I'd really try to get out to durris, it's got a really fun freeride track and some decent dh trails too
