Just got back from Norway and pleased to say they are opening up lots of new places with lift support all over, couple of seasons time and things will be serious pver there,Hafjel is awesome but other spots aren't far behind just still having trails developed, massive bike scene there didn't see anything but serious level bikes, but DAMN EXPENSIVE! Basically double -triple British prices.

Yeah my mate said it cost some thing like 50euros for a round of 5 drinks there ! fking hell ! I probably wouldnt drink much on a biking holiday anyway , would be well pissed off if I could not ride due to hangover ( not that you could afford to get drunk enough to get a hangover. )

Lucky lucky bastards ! My local hill is not even as high as the 1st switchback on that road!

my very little experience with Norways says - beautiful mountains yes! but it's all good to you with no trails, and there are very, very few trails there, then with those few it's like: no guide - almost guaranteed failure, unlike Alps where wherever you go you find only different levels of OZOM. A great country to visit and great stuff to look at, but through the car window - save Hafjell off course which is the gift of Nordic gods...

bigburd - I'm sure there are some awesome trails, but there are cheaper and easier to access places in Europe Smile However Hafjell is fkn worth visiting! It is a gem - just take food with you, pizza can cost up to 30quid!!!, fkn McDonald menu costs 15+, rent a lodge with kitchen, you'll save A LOT! And book in advance, they sort of don't give a fk about tourists, you come there, see closed reception, call number bladi bla, you call, no one answers, and if its in the middle of mountains, the next town can be up to 4h drive away. Though you can sleep in a tent almost anywhere you like which is great. It's a bit: you're on your own - I don't know what's worse though, in Polish mountains the locals care too much for toursits, they have € instead of eye lids Smile - fkn sheep shagging mean highlanders
