technically, im not, the more sideways you are, the more you resist the air, therfore slowing you down, this is because theres more for the air to get round the frame than there is if you were going in a straight line. thats why downhiller rarely whip out their rear end.
In the same way a bird carrying a toothpick would have more air resistance when flying, its so little it could be ignored. Its like putting your hand out of a window in a car, its not really going to make much difference.
