Oh for sure man. I've had rocks get crushed in the linkage on my frame...I can't imagine what this thing would be like.

 i feel like the last thing i want in the linkage of my bike is exposed metal sliding on metal. it doesnt even look like its doing anything, it would work just as well if you just pulled that whole pin thing out. not to mention the back tire clearance
