I was told just the color of the Ti Nitrate faded but the overall performence of the coating still stayed. once the color fades the fork looks like garbage but still works like new.

I was in whitsler this past July and saw one on Chris Kovorick's and thw Ti Nitrate coating looks like it was wearing through and started looking silvery again. I was a bit disappointed.

ti nitrate coating is the same coating that is used on many drill bits and also medical equipment because of the longevitiy

I know but Logan Bingelli ran those forks and they didn't last very long under muddy conditions. Rockshox proved Ti was not the way to go with suspension around 4 years ago as the coating wont stand the stress of DH abuse. It was merely a prototype/test to give these only to the team members and few other select individuals.

not true because I actually worked with logan on these forks and they have lasted him over 3 seasons. He used the same tubings for 3 seasons they didn't give him new ones and he ran them in 2010 2011 2012.

Ti-Ni does not adhere well to all stanchion materials. Not to mention some years ago, Ti-Ni was considered to be more of a "temporary coating" rather than an overall, long-lasting one. However, Marz is switching their materials over to provide a viable Ti-Ni coating that will also come in colors of Red, Blue, etc, but it won't be OEM, you'll literally have to ask Marz to put it on your fork for an added price.

Sick bike!
