There is a bridge exactly like that here in Grants Pass, OR. Every time I cross it, I fantasize of this exact thing...if only I had the balls

It makes me happy that I have been around Scotland enough to see this picture and know exactly where it is.

Riding without a helmet is not advised, so no POD without a helmet. But riding there -especially while the road is open- is ok? Where's the logic?

I understand that you have to draw a line somewhere, but this is absurd.

This said, cool riding and shot! (Yeah, I'm in favour of no helmets and this kind of riding. I just don't want retards to get hurt)

When they would only make pictures POD with no dangerous situation - a lot, a LOT of POD's would not be POD's now.

He has got a helmet on and it's probably a set up, it's a great pic whatever way you look at it.

This one's in Oregon. My buddy's dad, Alan Pynn, rode his motorcycle across it. good on ya, Big Al.

dirrrtjump, I know that. There still is a difference between bringing yourself in danger and bringing yourself AND others in danger. navyman, I hope it is set up. And yes, it's a great pic. That's not the issue...

 on the other thing

Looks quite a way out from it though
  • 1 0
 wide angle and cropped
  • 1 0
Just looks like the point of origin is way beyond the edge of the bridge, not sure how cropping would change that.
Can rob tell us?
  • 1 0
There's not a ton of slope on those arches, and the camera is going to be at least 4-5 feet above the arch in the photographer's hand. To me it looks exactly like someone is standing opposite the rider holding the camera near head height. I see how the perspective kind of looks like it's levitating over nothing though.
  • 1 0
Yeah I scaled the other side and if I remember correctly was laying down with the camera held at arms length and trusting in what seemed the correct angle so as to take in the form of both sides of the bridge. I was supplying the shot to be used on a t-shirt for Animal and thought it would be good to upload it...glad I did )

But I'll be in scotland before you".
Not quite the words from the song "Loch Lomond".

I hate over-edited photos. There is no need for the saturation and contrast to be this high. I personally prefer more natural colours.
