I'm sorry to not have read all of the comments. But first i have to say: 'you're building a mean machine right here!' Am i mistaking when i think that the rear frame will be able to move..?? For cornering, or carving..

Must admit.. I think i see that everything is welded..

Man, how hard is it for me to enlarge a picture, and see before i comment. (you must be laughing by now..)

I like the design with the 'swiveling' skis. Plus you can run over a land mine and come out unscathed I'd bet, hahaa.

all these comments are hurting my feelings Cry But if you look at the other comments, especially skunkape's one you'll see my logic behind it

I like it, are you going to put in some springs so it doesn't lean too much? Where does one sit and put his/her feet?
  • 2 0
Bungee cords, might make some pedal threads but for now Im just gonna stick some snowboard stomp plate spike thingys on the skis

Awe man there was no intent on my part to bash your project, I was only joking around. I quite like it myself and I think the design is very cool looking tup

that looks really sick, think about where you put your feet though because you could run into problems there Smile
  • 1 0
 Looks heavy, and very wide..
  • 1 0
Heavy is faster for a ski bike! Awesome Project!

Thanks Larry, hows the shoulder? And its not to bad weight wise, its 50mm box section and 2mm thick, i dont want it breaking and besides, its only a prototype!
  • 1 0
Heavier ski-bike would make it a lot harder to control though and personally don't think it would be as fun.
  • 1 0
Yeah, id love it to be lighter but as I said its only a proto so I want to avoid heat treating costs if possible

 Drill speed holesWink
  • 1 0
 haha, maybe... lol

That's alu, right? Not that heavy... and Idk how if it would even be possible to bunnyhop that thing, my plastic sled is scary, it bounces around and is really hard to control, I think I would like something that could track in the snow.
The only question is: is it barspin-able? Wink
Thanks man, it's doing pretty good! I had a surgery yesterday to remove all my hardware and I'm not feeling too bad!
Recovery vid is up: www.pinkbike.com/video/303658

Yup its Alu, and of course its barspin-able, just need some higher bars!
  • 2 0
 Seriously overbuilt. Razz
  • 2 0
Thats the plan, dont want it breaking on me. Its 50mm x 50mm and 2mm thick. Its only a protype though Wink
  • 1 0
The only way you're gonna break that THING is by throwing it off a building.
  • 2 0
Huck to flat off all the things!
  • 1 0
Come to think of it, you're gonna break the concrete if you do that. Razz I guess the only way is to build another one and then crash them together. Big Grin
  • 2 0
Its not actually too heavy Razz
  • 2 0
only 10 kg. Slightly lighter than the earth.
