I love it! Hows dat Monarch??

After I serviced it, it became a whole lot better! Still trying to figure out the correct air pressure setting for my riding style and weight though, but feels good! Serviced the fork as well, and tried some new compression + air pressure settings, and now it just feels great! Looking really forward to do some trailripping this year! Big Grin

Still a perfect park bike for me! Thats awesome dude. Sorted the Monarch yet?

Nah, can't wrap my head around that air pressure! When running a low air pressure, it gets about 35-40% sag and works great downhill without bottoming out, and feels like complete shit when pedaling(bikes kinda sinks together). When running a higher air pressure, it feels harsh and has no small bump compliance on the descents, but gets less sag and feels better while pedaling. Just got to get some more trail time(the trails just got cleared of snow (!), so haven't got to test it too much yet) and try out different air pressures!

Wow that blows. Ccdb air??? Hehehe

Hehe, I've thought about it, but I've heard that the CCDB don't work too well with DW-link (at least not aboard a Sunday). Going to Hafjell next weekend, and I think I will get the air pressure sorted there. Thinking about selling the 6point after this season, and getting a Trek Scratch or something... Time will show :p

PS! Most likely, I'll start a new Sunday-build! Hahahah. Getting my blue frame back for free(!), as the owner of my blue Sunday is getting a Turner DHR frame pretty cheap.

Thats awesome. Your Sunday is seriously the best looking Ive seen. Ever. Bummed when you said you sold it. Haha Slap on some Float 40s and youre golden man. Gidder done!

 Haha, cheers man!

Monarch sorted! Tested it in Hafjell with just a tad more air pressure and flipped the compression lever in mid-position, and it was golden. After servicing it, it became a completely different shock than it was before. It just eats everything it gets over with ease now! It's not too happy about BIG jumps though(bottomed out a 10ft drop with a 17ft gap, and the landing was HARSH!), but I guess you can't expect that either from a 6.5" travel AM-bike. :p

Note: If you're ever going to buy a Monarch Plus, service that f***er as soon as you get it. The air seal has this nasty, thick, industrial grease on it, which just make it feel like shit. I removed the old grease, and used a little Fox Float fluid on the air seal, and a little Rock 'n roll Super Slick grease on the dust seal. That little operation will make the shock perform at a whole different level! Smile

Thats sick. Did you ride the wc track? Is it really that gnarly?
  • 1 0
Didn't get a chance to ride the full track (they are working on some of the sections), but I rode the sections that were open. I've ridden the full track before though. I don't think it's that gnarly, but it sure has some gnarly sections - e.g. the rock garden. That shit is just steeeeeep and filled with LARGE rocks. Besides the rock garden, it's just a fast and very fun track to ride! Big Grin Looking forward to the WC race there!

tup Last year's race did look so fast. Crazy how some of em like Smith just floated over the rock garden. Didnt even seem to lose ANY speed. Insane.
