I would dearly love to see a short animation of this system in action. Ever since I first read about the system I have been trying to imagine how it would work, but haven't been able to come up with a design that doesn't use a spring. The spring kept causing me problems as I didn't want to be compressing a spring with finger force that would be better used pressing the pads into the disc. I see yours has a spring but still can't quite see how it operates. An animation would no doubt make it all very clear.
