 Hose clamp over shifter cable? There are many more reasons that this setup will not last. Its clever, but I doubt its durable.

 I don't know if you notice, but the "U" thing don't afect the cable because it has a recess....so its ok about this.

 This is quite a complex construction - I'm running a much simpler design built out of two zipties and a 4-5cm garden hose since years... Costs less than 3€, easy to replace an renew. Lightweight. Simple. Perfect function. In use on a DH and on a AM/Enduro Rig.

 I bet it works better than many stuff in the market...in Brazil they call this kind of self engineering "gambiarra".
