Great shot Eric - good to see you're still rocking the D70! I'm about to snap up a cheap D80 with a water housing for some surf photos and it's good to know these bodies are more than capable.
Thanks man! Nice! Yeah ppl think a new camera is magically gonna make them know how to shoot, but the old guys are fine if you use 'em right. The D70 is so good with flash I think if mine dies I'll get another one. The D800 has surprised me a lot & works way better with flash than the old D200, but it still doesn't touch the D70 in bright light
Depends what usable is to you If I have to up ISO the light is prob not very bright & I'd use my D800. I only really use my D70 in bright sun, because that's where it beats the D800, but for everything else the D800 kills, so rather use it. D70's lowest ISO is 200 & almost never move it, could maybe go to 400 & not be too bad, but there will def be a bit of grain, but that's not it's job while it's working for me
Its because of you that i havent changed from my first dslr (d70) because you have shown me that by experience you can still take some great shots if you use it right.
great lighting. I had a 3' poster at InteBike back in '06 that was shot with a D70. That's a great camera. You put it perfectly: a high end camera isn't going to magically make you a better photographer.
